PLOT:
Nathan Roberts and Jacob Black don't enjoy each other's company very much. It all started with a little bit of healthy competition between Quil and Nathan. The competition only spurred on hate and anger, which therefore, made Nathan Roberts an unspoken name between Quil, Jacob, and Embry.
But, when Jacob phases and encounters Nathan at school, a whole new door opens for him. He sees that the boy isn't just a narcissistic jock, but a kind soul. He's even more pleased when he finds out that Nathan has accepted his sexuality and the whole school knows of it.
However, getting Nathan to see things from his perspective is more difficult than he thought. The rival between him and Jacob is not forgotten in Nathan's mind, and all of Jacob's attempts at friendship are almost useless.
SUMMARY: Because of Quil's ego, a friendly competition with Nathan Roberts turns into an unnecessary rivalry. So, when Jacob imprints on Nathan, this rivalry follows him until the end. He's constantly rejected by Nathan, who only thinks that Jacob is trying to get on the other side of enemy lines so he can attack from within. For the first time, Jacob has to prove himself to a boy who wants absolutely nothing to do with him.
