Ethan's POV

As the last of the orange creamsicle sky melted into the dark streaks of night, Luna and I were still sitting on the sandy coast. She had herself comfortably tucked into my side, her eyelids shut to savor the shared warmth between our bodies. Nothing in my power could stop me from watching her contently sit beside me, however.

As pleasurable as it was to share this moment with such an angel, the silence was unbearable. It stretched on and on, like an itch you can't reach but its presence taunts your mind, and suddenly it's the single task you need to finish before losing your sanity.

"Oi, Luna! I've heard about a carnival just up the way, like a boardwalk! Want to go check it out with me?" I said.

Luna lifted her head up, her dark blue eyes glistening with the stars overhead. She grinned and bobbed her head, replying, "I would love to! It's been forever since I've been to one... we use to go all the time when I was little."

Getting up and brushing the sand stuck to my swim shorts, I smiled to myself at the thought of Luna as a kid... maybe that's weird, I don't know. But what if I saw her once as a kid and just didn't realize it? Damn, if I had known how sweet and utterly gorgeous she was going to turn out to be, I would've called dibs on the spot. At the same time, that makes me sound like a brute, right? Truth be told, I've actually kinda have been enjoying how our friendship has developed slowly, as if a fine wine.

Call me crazy but it's a phenomenal feeling, the feeling of my heart swelling with affections for a girl I seem to catch myself thinking of every morning when I wake up and fall asleep to the thought of. Or maybe I'm just now getting sappy?

"You know," I commented while flexing my biceps, "these guns will easily win ya anything you want. What do you like, sweet cheeks, I'll gladly win it for my girl- erm, my friend... that's a girl."

Luna erupted into laughter, holding her stomach as if her intestines would flop out like a fish if she didn't. Rolling my eyes with evidence of a smile, I nudged her with my side playfully.

"Is that right? Hmm?" she replied, the corner of her mouth lifting into a smirk.

Suddenly, she moved to face me, getting extremely close and stepping up onto her tip toes. Her breath was warm against my chin as she looked up towards me, that ridiculously coy expression now plastered across her cute face. Jesus, if I could just grab her hips and caress those silky lips with my own right now ... god damn it. I can't jump her like that. Ha, but I kinda wish I could. Yet, it feels like a sin to want her this intensely.

Is that bad? I sincerely hope not, but it might not stop me from thinking about it...

"You," Luna said as she poked the tip of my nose, "are adorable! You think you're winning stuff for me? More like I'll be winning for you, silly."

I faked an over-exaggerated gasp, throwing my fists onto my hips in an attempt to be amusing. Let's just say it was an automatic hit as another wave of laughter rose from her throat.
