Chapter VIII

I am honestly sooooo sorry but I been having finals, exams, homework and basketball and I haven't been able to write but I have planned out a lot of the book out so it has help me write this chapter and future ones. There is a BTS song in this chapter and I will put in the pronunciation not the Korean characters, mostly because she is singing and that's how it would sound to Bender when she sings. Our seating arrangement was the same on the way to school. I was so tired and didn't want to go boxing. At least I got to see Caleb today, I missed my neighbor. I remember sneaking out of our houses and watching the sky. Giving him a black eye and him busting my lip; after me telling him that it's okay to hit me back. I remember him sneaking in my room and holding me until I was done sobbing. I remember sneaking in his room and scaring him exactly at 5:02 a.m. just so I could be the first person to say happy birthday. I also remember us crying the day I left and everything shifted in our lives.

"Derek, I got a question for you." I say making sure he can hear me.
"Okay shoot." he said.

"How in the world do you not have morning breath?" I say whispering, making sure it's only him who heard it.

"I don't, I brushed my teeth and made sure I didn't have a boner when you woke up." He said chuckling.

"Okay thanks, but I have morning breath." I say terrified.

"Don't worry, I still liked it." He said smirking at me.

"My kisses tend to have that effect on people." I say an unconsciously lick my lips.

"I can tell." He said. "Also Caleb is a nice guy." He said this a little bit more uncomfortable.

"I know!" I say trying to ignore his tone.

"Okay now go back to trying to get Bender to like you." He said and I punched him on his leg through the seats.

I tap Bender on the shoulder since he has his earbuds plugged in. He looks at me and takes his earbud off.

"Yes Kat." Bender says with a smile.

"Could I lay on your lap?" I say playing with a strand of my hair.

"Yea no problem. Do you wanna listen to music with me?" He says with a smile and an earbud towards me. I lay down on his lap and grab the earbud.

"I like your music taste." I say humming to 'Tu foto' by Ozuna.

"Thank you, it's all over the place." He said looking through his phone.

"Don't worry so is mine." I say snatching his phone.

"I am going to put on a band that I am like obsessed with at the moment, it's a rap group." I say looking for a good brockhampton song to introduce him to.

"I'm sure I'll like them, what's their name?" He says trying to look at his phone.

"Brockhampton." I say clicking 'sweet' by them.

"Stripped down to my skin and my bones. I love huskies but I feel like a wolf. HOWW!... Twistin' me up like licorice. Think I need someone who can handle it. Ice and my boys and my wrist this flex. I don't need nobody tryna give me shit." I keep singing but realize that Bender is liking the song and also looking at me in a certain way that for some reason made me blush.

"Do you like the song?" I ask trying to cover my blushing face.

"Yeah, I really like them, I'll add them to my playlist." He said going through his phone, I am guessing he is adding them to his playlist.
Bender smiles when Meryl Wood's part comes on and I start rapping.
