Kaia was setting the table when she heard footsteps behind her but she didn't turn around and continued her task.

"Hey, umm,Harry told me you helped to decorate the library. I haven't seen it yet, do you want to go with me and check it out?" She asked a little more hesitantly than she meant too.

Kaia stopped doing what she was doing and took a deep breath. "That's up to you," she said. She was trying not to cry.

Marian let out a heavy sigh. Kaia was still the same. She couldn't help but wonder if she would ever change. "Yes I came in here to see if you wanted to do something so I could be turned down. Just like with every other thing I have ever asked you," she huffed out and then decided to go see the stupid library herself. Maybe she would ask Harry to get rid of all the Kaia's stuff. So bloody stubborn she was.

Kaia slammed the plates down on the table and followed her to the library. "Are you going to be continued to be disappointed in me for the rest of our lives?" She asked as she nearly bumped into Marian and realized she was just standing in the doorway of the library.

"Well, when I ask for something you say no then when a member of the opposite sex asks you you instantly say yes so what do you expect me to think?" She exclaimed.

"What are you even talking about?"

"Zayn told me you and Louis are like Bff's now," she said slightly annoyed.

"Is that what this is about?" Kaia asked and moved to stand in front of her. She gave her a classic Kaia eye roll. "Louis and I are far from BFF's." She said. "We've made amends. We've found common ground," She said. "Friends yes. But not best friends. He will never be my best friend. We're writing songs together and he's agreed to be a producer for my next album. That doesn't make us best friends. We still fight and we still argue and he knows I'll never forgive him for leaving you." She said and then took a deep breath. "He's been a great support for you lion cub. Helping him in ways I can't." She breathed out.

She was thankful that Kaia let Louis help Ahmir, her little lion cub. But she still wasn't happy that Kaia never gave Louis a chance while they were dating and together. It was the one thing she couldn't let go off. "I don't want to talk about it," she grumbled. "Do you want to go in with Faith and me?"

"Yes." She said nervously. She knew Marian would never find it in her heart to forgive her how she treated Louis in the past and now she hated her for spending time with him now.

"Are you sure? I no longer have time for bullshit. I want you to do things because you want to do them, not because you think you should," Marian said firmly then pushed to door to the library open.

"I hope you like what I did in here," Kaia said. "Harry gave me pretty much free reign."

Marian walked in and saw some photos of her and Kaia from when they were younger. "Why were you crying over old photos of us? Is this the reason?"

"If we can't find you a heart then pictures and memories are all that I will have." She said and glanced around the room trying to remain strong.

"Are they good memories or sad ones? Were they tears of joy or sadness?" She asked. "Do you wish you could make more memories, better ones?" Marian asked.

Kaia moved past her and sat down in one of the over sized leather chairs. "They're great memories," she said. "Tears of joy and of future sadness," she admitted. "Knowing how limited our time is and yes," she said looking up at her best friend. Her eyes brimmed with tears. "I want more memories and I want good memories."

"Then promise to be real with me, don't hold back just because I'm dying. You need to stop holding back, Kaia. I need you to be able to tell Faith about me when I am gone," she said blinking back her tears. "Do I have any classic first editions in here?" she wondered.
