Secrets And Similarities

Karasu's P.O.V.

"You did really well, all things considered." Sasori's emotionless voice pulled me from my dazed state. I had woke up hours ago, my body feeling the full effects of every fight in the last few days. I sat half way off a medical table, the cool metal touching my legs gave me chills but I didn't bother to move. I was angry. I couldn't stop staring at the ground, a permanent scowl on my face. I could feel Sasori's eyes linger on me for a moment before going back to what he was originally doing, which was putting away various medical supplies that he used to patch me up. My thigh was wrapped in a bandage and the blood had already started soaking through for the second time since he put it on me. I could feel the tender bruise forming on my neck as well and that only pissed me off more. Whats even more taxing on my mind is how I didn't even learn much about the bastard. I tried to take a deep breath and focus on what happened. I was in such a fight or flight mode that I stopped paying attention to keeping tabs on my opponent. He was fast, way too fast for me in my current state. He also had some weird gravitational power. I was brought out of my thoughts abruptly when a firm hand grabbed my left wrist. I pulled it roughly to my chest, regretting as the pain pulsed through, and made eye contact with a seemingly irritated red head. His fingers held firm though.

"Let. Go." My demand came out a bit more hostile than I intended, I just didn't want him to accidentally pull up my sleeve and see the white tattoos.  His irritation didn't fade but he roughly pushed a bandage roll to my chest and released my other hand.

"Fine. Bandage your own shoulder then, I've got more important matters to attend." He walked away and out the door but paused to look at something down the hall, then walking off. 'He must have noticed that my arm was injured in the fight.' I sighed heavily, trying desperately to accept the fact that Pein wiped the floor with me. Even if I hadn't fought Deidara and injured myself this probably would have been the outcome anyway. I didn't even know why this was bothering me so much. Everything went as planned, so why was I beating myself up about it so much?

"I need to get stronger..." I hadn't meant to whisper that out loud, but my mind was so cluttered that it just couldn't fit anywhere so it spilled out my mouth.

"Then you need to learn how to use your chakra, Karasu-chan!" Tobi's cheerful voice shocked me in the dead silence.

"T-Tobi, don't scare me like that. But yeah, you're right about that." Him and Deidara both stood in the doorway. Tobi skipped over to me with his arms waving like a child.

"Tobi can teach you!"

"Pff, right, Tobi could teach you, yeah." Deidara pipped in with mild amusement. "He could teach you how to be a total idiot." Tobi's arms hung in disappointment. He really did act like a child sometimes, and although he was taking part in the conversation, Deidara seemed slightly off. Like he was only half paying attention to what we were talking about. I tried to shift the conversation back to him, just to get his brain away from what ever it was thinking about.

"Don't be so mean Deidara-kun. It was nice of Tobi-kun to offer, besides I don't see you jumping to take me on as a student." I shifted from my seat to stand and bit my lip from the throb in my arm. He hummed in irritation, his arms crossed.

"It's Deidara-san. I'm your superior now pipsqueak, hm. And no, you don't see me doing that because I don't want any part in it, yeah." I waved him off with my right hand asking Tobi if there was a bathroom nearby. He excitingly walked beside me to show me the way. While passing a peeved off Deidara I was stopped in my tracks by him grabbing my injured shoulder. My eyes closed tight and I sucked in a sharp pain filled breath. Deidara seemed to realize his mistake and let go almost as quick as he had grabbed it. 'He must have noticed it was injured too and forgot about it in his anger.' I let out a breath and glanced at him. His sky blue eyes were mesmerizing, I would have gotten lost in them if he hadn't turned away to stomp out of the room in a huff.
