Prologue

As Daisy walked through the halls of her high school, she noticed Luke looking at her. Daisy has a huge crush on Luke. Daisy kept walking to her Agriculture class with one of her best friends; Taiylor. Taiylor has P.E. but they always walk to class together because the classes are right next to each other. As they're walking to their classes, Luke stopped Daisy in the middle of the hallway.

"Hey Daisy" Luke stuttered not making eye contact with Daisy. As Taiylor kept walking to her class, that way she wasn’t blocking anything that would happen.

"Oh, Hey Luke, Is there something you needed?" Daisy spoke confidently.

"Umm..well...I - i was wondering. Uh- How would you like to go out on a date with me?" Luke mumbled trying his hardest not to look into Daisy's eyes.

Daisy could tell he was nervous. The way he was standing, and the way he was talking. Usually he is so confident.

"Umm. I'd like that." Daisy said smiling.

"Awesome. How's Saturday sound? At about seven?" Luke asked, still nervous.

"Sounds great! But I have to get to class now. If I'm late Mr. Henderson will kill me." Daisy said trying not to sound nervous or too excited about the date.

"Okay. I’ll see you later Daisy." Luke said walking the opposite way Daisy was walking.

Daisy opened the doors to the classroom. She walked into the classroom glancing around for her good friend Liz. She had to tell her what just happened. She spotted her brunette headed friend, and took a seat in front of her.

"L-L-Liz" Daisy stuttered as she was holding a scream in.

"Daisy!! Spill it!!" Liz practically yelled. They got a few stares from the other students.

"Lu-Luke just asked me out on a date!" Daisy said quietly hoping nobody else heard her.

"That's awesome!!" Liz said high fiving her friend.

As Daisy was getting ready to speak to her friend, Mr. Henderson walked in and started teaching the class. The whole hour Daisy was thinking about Luke. She really liked him. The bell rang, and Daisy stood up and headed for the doors. And she noticed Luke was walking towards her. She didn’t know what to do.

Daisy shoved her books into her locker and started walking to P.E. and stopped at her best friend's locker; Cassidy. And then went to Adam's locker, Adam is Daisy’s all-time best friend and waited for the both of them to be done.

"Cass!! Guess what?!" Daisy practically yelled.

"What?!!" Cassidy said, while closing her locker door. And they all three walked to class together.

"Luke asked me out on a date!!!!!" Daisy squealed, trying her hardest not to scream it out.

"Congrats Hun! He's a great guy." Cassidy congratulated Daisy.

Adam then said "That’s Great…." But Daisy could tell there was something wrong with Adam. It was the way he said stuff, that she could tell his mood. She'll ask about that later.

Walking to the locker room, Daisy noticed Adam looking at her. So she waved. Adam waved back, but had an embarrassed look on his face. After Daisy walked into the locker room, Adam grabbed one of his friends.

"Dude, I need your help. I think I have feelings for Daisy. What do I do?" Adam said quickly before they walked into the guy’s locker room, so the other guy’s wouldn’t hear him.

"Honestly Adam. You guys would be a great couple; you guys already do everything together. So there wouldn’t be much of a change for everyone else, or you guys."

"Thanks." Adam said, thinking to himself- I need to get my head straight before I talk to Daisy.

"Hey Daisy Duke!!" Adam called for Daisy. That was her nickname that he called her. Daisy doesn’t let anyone else call her that. That’s their thing.

"Hey Adam!" Daisy said, hugging Adam. Nobody really said anything about them. Everyone knew they were best friends. You couldn’t split them apart for anything.

After agilities, Adam, Daisy and Cass paired up and started shooting baskets. Daisy was a pretty good basketball player. She had skill. Everything Daisy learned she learned from a family friend. Daisy considers him as a brother.

" Duuudde! That was sick!" Adam congratulated Daisy, giving her a high five, as she just made a half-court shot.

"Thanks! I learned from the best!" Daisy said bragging about her "brother". It was the truth though. If it wasn’t for Lucas getting in trouble with the law. Daisy would have sent an application for him to the NBA Counsel.

"Hey guys! I'll be right back. I’m going to get a drink." Daisy told her two best friends. They let her know they heard her.

"Cassidy. You can't tell Daisy I told you this. Okay?" Adam spoke quietly to Cassidy.

"Yeah. Of course. What is it?"

"So, I think I'm starting to get feelings for her. Don’t tell her please. Please don’t tell her." Adam practically begged. He just had to let someone know. He couldn’t hold it in any longer.

"I won’t! I promise. Dude you know she has feelings for Luke. Right?"

"Yeah. I know. Thanks for helping me." Adam said sarcastically.

"No problem."

"And you know Luke just asked her out of a dare. One of his best buds dared him to ask her out on a date. Because she's the "ugliest" girl in this school. You have no idea how steaming I was when I heard that. First playing with her like that, won’t get on my good side or yours. And calling her ugly won’t get you anywhere! She’s not ugly. She is the most beautiful person I've ever seen. She deserves to be treated right. With respect. She’s amazing, if I could just wrap her in my arms and tell her that every day I'd be the luckiest person on this earth. I don’t want to tell her about the dare, because I know how much she likes him. But I want to tell her, so she doesn’t get hurt." Adam sputtered out to Cassidy.

"Are you kidding me? Ugghhh. When I get my hands on him. He'll regret every word that came ever out of his mouth. Just ugghh. I have to tell her. I know it will kill her. But she has to know. I don’t want her getting hurt any more than she already is going to be. She doesn’t deserve it."

"Heyy guys! I'm back! Sorry it took so long, I ran into Luke and we just started talking." Daisy said to her friends while she ran up to them. Not knowing what news was going to be told to her.

"Umm, Daisy." Cassidy spoke up.

"Yeah, what’s up?"

"You have to know. Luke only asked you out on a date out of a dare. His buddies dared him to, because he refers to you as "the ugliest girl" in the school. They didn’t think he would do it. But he did. And if you go out on a date with him, he gets some kind of reward or something."

"You’re joking."

"No, I’m not! Even ask Adam"

"Adam?"

"It's true. Sorry Duke"

"Oh..." Daisy said looking down at her feet. She didn’t know what to say.

The bell rang, ending the last hour of the day. Daisy was thinking about this whole dare thing. What would she do about it? Daisy walked to her locker, did her combination and grabbed what books she needed to take home. Walked to her bus, and sat next to Beth. Beth only lives two houses down from her.

The whole bus ride Daisy was silent. Daisy didn’t say a word. Her friends knew there was something wrong. They just didn’t know what to do. Daisy got home, and did her chores, then went upstairs to her room and turned on her Luke Bryan CD, music always cheered her up, but not this time.
