Dear EdwardDo you remember our first date? The one with the two kids clinching to your feet like you were their big brother? I do – I remember everything.
The lights from the city had burned out; the only thing around us were complete darkness. We had known each other for quite some time, three months maybe. You had finally gathered enough guts to ask me out on an official date, not one of those; "My parents are out of town, so if you want to see a movie or something..." no this, this was a real date. The kind of date where you have to dress up in something nice, I'd even put on some makeup, which both you and I know that I'm not a fan of. At all.
It should've felt weirder than it did, it should've felt more cosmetic; like we were faking it. I mean, you had already seen me crying over broken promises and puppies, and all of a sudden we were back to that 'awkward first date'.
If I remember what you wore? Of course I do. You were dressed up with a smile and the green eyes I had grown to know so well were light up. The white jacket that reached you to the waist covered your muscular body, and your green, baggy trousers was tucked in a pair of Dr. Martens. You were different from the other boys, however, it was something about you that felt – and still feel – so right.
That night we ate dinner at a far too fancy restaurant, and ended up at McDonald's with two kids we still don't know who were. And I think that tell more about our relationship than anything else, don't you agree?
You've been gone for quite some time now, and I'm longing for your thoughts, your voice, your kisses.
Come home soon, will you?As you always say
Be kind. Always.
All the love.Emma
