He waited for another thirty minutes by the parking lot until he saw he silhouette walking straight to his car.
He saw her solemn face as she tentatively knock at his closed window. He opened his door to get out of the car and walked to her.
When he's finally standing right in front of her. He noticed the sad smile she's wearing on her face.
"Gwenchana?" He mumbles wrapping his arms around her waist. She chuckled before slowly moving closer to him and looping her arms on his neck.
They continued to hug in silence until she let out a deep sigh.
"Joyiah.." He started pulling back from her to look her in the eye.
"I'm glad it's over." She said matter of factly.
"So am I." He said teasingly and her eyes crinkled. He leaned in and stole a soft kiss on her lips before leaning his forehead to hers.
"You ready to go?" He whispers at her closed eyes.
"Ne, it's almost your birthday." She mumbles before pulling away from him.
"It's not as happy if you're sad." He replies back before opening the door for her.
"I'm not sad." She answers too quickly. As if she was programmed to answer those statements with that.
He didn't answer her, he just walked to his side of the car and got in.
He huffed before starting the car and stared at the driveway.
"You forget I've been your boyfriend for awhile now. I know when you're upset, I know when you worry about what people think of you, I know when you want to eat tteokbokki on cold winter nights, I know when you pretend you're okay when you're not, I know that even if it doesn't help you sleep at night you ask me to sing for you, I know you Sooyoung-ah. Like the back of my hand. I don't like you hiding how you feel from me." He said before turning to her who was safely tucked on her seat, head pressed on the car seat behind her.
"I.." She started before letting out soft chuckle. "I'm a little sad of how much I missed because of the drama." She admitted, slowly removing the beret sitting on top of her head. "But even if I got a little sad about the drama too, I'm more relieved it's over. Isn't that weird?" She says catching his hand to intertwine it to hers.
"I worked incredibly hard for the drama, I have... missed so much. I'm proud of the drama too, but the relief of it being over is just—"
"I didn't realize how much I disliked it until I felt the relief of being done with it." She finished and he squeezed her hand for good measure, just so she knows he's listening.
"That's okay. You grew up well, Sooyoung-ah." He says casually earning a soft punch on his shoulder.
"I was sharing my feelings."
"I was trying to be funny."
"It wasn't that funny." She deadpanned.
He got quiet and she giggled even more before moving a little closer to him and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"We better go, I still have a surprise for you.."
"What is it?" He said petulantly.
"It's a surprise. I just told you, now drive Mr. Twenty-four in two hours."
