"Woah Woah Woah mom" I speak with my body guarding Sal "He's a playful and dog and he will do things without meaning it with despite" I defend "He did this because he knew you were going to defend him" She says angrily
"Mom you have to show him some slack, I'll help you buy more seeds and plant them" I reassure
"This won't keep happening Sal you've been a bad boy!" She yells angrily "In the house now" Mom points her finger to the house and Sal dashes to the door and jumps through the hole
"Mom you could be a little nicer to him"
"Well maybe he shouldn't be such a brat" She walks to my car and I follow her. I realize what she's doing and she gets in the passenger seat. "What? Mom, isn't it a little too late to be going to the store?" I ask
"No it isn't it's just 7:43" She responds looking at her watch on her wrist. "Um yea mom it is because this store is an hour away and by the time we get back it'll be 10 0r 12" Mom looked at me with an annoyed face "Quit your whining and come on"
AWW, I DON'T WANT TO GO TO THE STORE!
I slide my feet on the sidewalk on the way to my car and hop in the driver's seat and turn on the ignition and begin backing up. Then my dad comes running out of the house to my car
"Hey, where are you girls going?" He asked curiously "Taking mom to the store to get more seeds for her garden"
"Oh yea the garden is pretty damaged but hey, can you buy me a drink?"
"What kind of drink dad?" I asked "A brisk fruit punch" He answered
"Ok"
With that, he nods his head and walks back to the house
I drive off into the road for two hours with mom talking my head off about a vacation we were supposed to go in June and all I responded with was "yea, ok, mhmm, i know that, that sounds fun"
Because when my mom talks your head off she literally doesn't stop until your head comes off
This is going to be one heck of a ride

We were heading home and mom was humming some tune I didn't know. I guess she was bored and she started snooping around in my stuff. I shook my head and let her snoop.
She stopped shuffling through my stuff when she held up a piece of paper
"What is this??" She asked
"What is what?" I tried looking on the paper and the road she showed me and I realized it was the audition paper
"It's the paper I got-" She cut me off "You're not doing it"
"But mom-" I try to explain but again she cuts me off "I'm not going to let you risk your health for dancing no no no you're not doing it" She speaks calmly "But mom it's my dream" I whisper and grip the wheel until my knuckles turned pale "You can do something else like yoga that doesn't have much movement only stretching "
I stay quiet and focus on the road. Because if I keep talking mom is going to keep going and going and going. You'll never get the last word.
You know it's funny how my mom can still tell me what to do when I'm an adult. She'll probably tell me what to do when I'm old.
I pull up at my parent's house and park to the car.
"Thanks, Val" She smiles "You're welcome" I speak as mom closes the passenger door. She opens the back door and picks up her groceries and dad's drink. "Want me to help?"I ask. Mom shakes her head no and closes the door with her foot. "Bye mom" "Bye Valerie see you later" She tries to wave but can't because of the bags on her arms. I chuckled and drove off.
As I was driving my mind stumbled upon the dance studio. I want to go see what it looks like.
I drove to the dance studio and drove through my neighboorhood. The road was really dark but the street lights illuminated the road.
I stopped at my old house. It looked really bad. The door was opened and rusted, the ceiling was caving in, floorboards were out of place, the porch had no stairs. It was just really out of shape.
I remember when I used to play with Dennis my little brother outside in the rain. We used to look up at the sky and see who could hold their eyes open the longest as the raindrops in our eyes.
Flashback...
"Im going to beat you Val!" Dennis said with his hair soaking wet from the rain"Is that so?" I challenged
"Yea and I'm going to win all the time" he smiled "Good luck little man"
"Ready?" I asked
"Im more then ready I'm prepared!!" He responded
"Ok I'm going to count to three in 1...2...3!"
We both held our heads up towards the gray sky. The water hit my eyes and my eyes began to burn as the water went into my eyes.
I closed my eyes and bent my head down to rub my eyes.
"Ahh I won! I knew it" He smiled happily "Now give me $5" He held out his hand.
I gave him a look to be polite. "Please?" He smiled chessily
"Valerie and Dennis inside now!" My mom yelled "You're going to get a cold" Me and Dennis jogged to the house. Dennis rain in before me and as I walked up to the porch mom glared at me.
I smiled and looked down.
Flashback over
Those were the good days...
I drove further up the neighboorhood and stopped at the studio.
I gazed at the building in amazement. It looked so much better. They even put trees out in the front. I looked at where I put the paper. Auditions are tomorrow at 10:30.
If I get up early enough to get the things for tomorrow
I turn around in someones yard and back out and drive down the road.
I got back to my house and out down my purse on the table and walked upstairs took a shower then brushed my teeth.
I set my alarm for 8:00 and snuggled under my covers.
I then drifted off into slumber.
