Lemonade: A Percy X Nico Fanfic

Part 1

3rd POV

Summer was a good time for pretty much every half-blood, but today was even better. The sky was a crystal blue, laced with wispy, fluffy clouds, the temperature was no higher than 75, and the waves down by the fireworks beach were calm.

Perfect for a picnic.

Percy breathed in the afternoon air and stretched in front of the window, pushing away that last bit of drowsiness after he decided to sleep in. The first day of summer was always his favorite. All of the campers were happy to be back, meaning the weather was perfect.

Ooh, I wonder if I still have those snacks from last year...

He walked over to the chest in the corner by his bunk and lifted the top.

Sweet.

Percy threw on some clothes and walked out of his cabin to be greeted by the warm blaze of the sun chariot high in the sky. He went over to the mess hall for breakfast. Before sitting down at his table, Percy went over to several of the tables and got the attention of some of his friends.

"Hey I have a crap ton of sodas and chips that I would like your help eating, you free?"

By the time breakfast was over, Percy had a full guest list of Leo, Jason, Piper, Katie Gardener, and Travis Stoll. They agreed to meet up on the side of the beach nearest to the cabins.

Percy didn't invite Annabeth, not after their break-up. Sure, they both felt the same about it but it was pretty hard to just go back to being friends. They needed a little time apart, especially after he told her what he did.

Flashback---------

"So, you're gay?" Annabeth asked Percy, standing in his cabin ready to sneak out past curfew. Guess their plans have changed.

"Yeah, I mean no, I- I guess. Maybe? I'm just trying to figure it out right now." Percy responded.
Annabeth crossed her arms, not exactly mad, just sad.

"You can have all the time you want. We were kinda growing apart anyway." She responded quietly. Percy didn't want her to hate him, but he also didn't want to make the situation worse, so they came to a mutual understanding as Annabeth returned to her cabin.

Things haven't been the same for them since.

Percy headed back to Cabin 3 to pick up the "supplies". He had decided not to eat too much at breakfast, seeing as he was about to stuff his face with chips. While he was putting the snacks in an old backpack, he realized he didn't see a certain son of Hades in the mess hall this morning.

Nico. Ah geez. He started all this shit didn't he?

Just thinking about the kid made Percy's heart dance. He wanted- needed Nico to be at the beach with him.

But how am I going to get him out of his cabin?

Percy wasn't sure how just yet but he had to try something.

Percy slung the backpack over his shoulder and ran out of his cabin. He was trying to figure out what to say to Nico as he was walking to the Hades cabin.

He stood at the door, just mere feet from Nico, and knocked.
