Suppressants:

Usually in the form of pills, they block the scent of omegas in heat to some degree.

Alexander blamed Columbia for this. Entirely.

Their basic dorm policy, as far as Alex knew, or cared to know, was that unless you requested otherwise, you would be sharing a dorm with one other person of your same gender. Males with males, females with females.

Alphas and betas tended to be placed together, to avoid any issues with dominance. Unless you requested otherwise.

Betas and betas were then paired together, and omegas with omegas, sometimes maybe even with a beta as a last resort. And of course, unless requested otherwise.

So now, tell me, how the fuck did Alexander Hamilton, the omega, end up rooming with Thomas Jefferson, the alpha? (And no, he did not request otherwise.)

When Alexander first received the letter that he had been accepted, he'd assumed that he would probably have to be placed with a beta; only a very few omegas managed to get into King's College anyway.

And he was fine with it. He'd accepted that fact already long before he even applied.

He was about as different as one could get form the submissive omega stereotype, always picking fights and screaming his opinion at others. Just the other day he had cussed out some other beta who decided it would be fine to say that omegas should just stay at home and take care of children.

But we're getting off-track.

Alexander had checked the paper they gave him multiple times, reading and re-reading the tiny line of text to make sure he hadn't gone insane.

Then, he went up to the people at the reception area, but that hadn't gone so well either.

It wasn't Alexander's fault though - he had gone up to them nicely, but all he got in return were condescending smiles. "How about you first get your roommate here and then we can figure things out. He's an alpha, right?"

He may or may not wanted to punch them. Just to knock some sense into them.

So now we have Alexander, standing in front of his dorm room, suitcases behind him. The little name plate even read, 'Thomas Jefferson (A), Alexander Hamilton (O)'.

What's the worst that could happen anyway? He already knew Jefferson from high school, at the very least it wouldn't be stranger judging him.. although he was pretty sure he would rather have a stranger than Jefferson.

Of course, he wouldn't give Jefferson the satisfaction of seeing him like this. Alexander took a deep breath in, collected all his nerves, and opened the door.

The first thing that hit him was the scent. Everything in the room smelled distinctly of the scent that Alexander had come to associate with Jefferson, and he wouldn't ever admit it, but it wasn't entirely unpleasant.

Another whiff of the man, stronger, hit him. The shit must have been pressing on his scent glands.

"Already marking the entire dorm, how nice of you," Alexander snorted at the man, who was lying down on his bed and on his phone.
