Hermione's POV:

I had gotten up earlier to feed Rose, my daughter, so now I'm trying to go back to sleep. I'm having trouble though because something smells like food and it's making my stomach growl.

I decide I can't fall asleep and I get up and ready for the day.

When I walk downstairs, I see Ronald cooking eggs and pancakes.

"Ronald! I'm astonished! I didn't know you could cook!"

He smiled. "Morning my 'Moine. Yeh, mum insisted she teach me so you weren't doing all the work all the time."

I put in a mental note to thank Molly later. "Well, I'm proud of you for taking the initiative to do so." I walked over to him, smiling, and planted a kiss on his lips. He grinned.

"Here's your food, my 'Mione." He hands me a plate of pancakes.

I sit at the table and had just begun to bring the fork to my mouth when Rose started to cry. I started to stand when Ronald put a hand on my shoulder. "I can get her to sleep again. You just relax today, yeh?"

I smiled and sat back down, and he went upstairs. Why was he being so nice today? He's usually cranky in the morning. I laugh to myself. Like daughter like father.

I finished my food and began to wash dishes, as the sink had begun to pile up.

Ron came down stairs. "Why are you doing that the muggle way? It's easier and faster with magic."

"Because, Ronald, unlike you I was raised without magic for most of my life." I stopped what I was doing. Why was I being so snappy? "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out that way."

"It's OK. I get it. I'm not usually a morning person either."

I went back to finishing the dishes. I had never seen Ron have.....well.....more emotions than the size of a teaspoon. I think it's the size of a tablespoon now. I'm so proud of him.

I dried my hands, seeing as the dishes were done now, and went to put on my coat. "Anything you need from the store today Ronald?"

"No, thanks." He responded with a mouthful of food.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed my purse, which of course was magicked to be bottomless. "Right. I'll see you after work Ronald. Oh, and don't forget to drop Rose off at Harry's today before you go to work."

"Relax 'Moine. I won't forget my own kid."

I harrumphed and walked out the door. After, I apparated to the Ministry to do my job as Minister.
