Jessica and Matt have been lovers for years. They have finally saved enough money for a romantic get away. They weren't saving for just enough money to get on the cruise, they were saving for first class. They booked the cruise a year in advance, which was a mistake. No one could have predicted the hurricane that would hit them after a day at sea. They are caught in a fight for their lives when they leave everyone they know behind for one week, which turns into one month, which turns into one year.
