Chapter One- Rebecca's POV
I was dribbling down a small, empty, California Street. I hated the college soccer rules that I had to follow.
1) No staying up past 11
2) No partying on the weekends
3) Follow the diet plan that's specially made for me
4) Dribble around town for at least na hour a day
There were tons of other rules, but these are just a few. I was following rule #4 as I picked my head up before crossing the street. I didn't see any cars, so I continued across. I made my way to the other side before I realized that I'd left my water on the other side when I was waiting for the light to change.
Shit, good going Rebecca.
I stop the ball from rolling away from me before crossing again. I didn't get the chance to think when I looked up to see a black Volvo rushing right at me. I wanted to get my feet to move, but as soon as I made eye contact with the hottest man on the earth, which was driving the car, my entire world stopped.
Once again I tried to pick up my feet, but to no avail, I stayed still. Well, I stayed still until the hood of the car swept my feet out from underneath me. I remembered rolling across the hood and seeing black.
Anonymous' POV
"Mate." My wolf, Jace, growled at me.
I never thought I would find my Mate, and I certainly didn't think I would meet her like this. My world stopped until I heard and felt the thud against the hood of my car.
"Shit." I mumbled as I unstrapped my seatbelt and opened the door to my car. I wasted no time at all to call an ambulance to come and get her. I was glad that one of the wolves from my pack answered the call so they sped over as fast as they could. I bent over to look at the angel of a girl sprawled across my car.
"Of course, I had to find her like this! I could've killed her!" I felt incredibly stupid that I harmed her. Even though we hadn't mated yet, I could feel pain in my right leg, indicating that her right leg was broken.
I lifted her leg gingerly to see the damage I had inflicted to see her leg stained with blood, and the bone poking through her skin. I literally started to howl when I saw that I had caused this.
The ambulance rushed around the corner and two wolves from my pack hopped out and ran over to us.
"Alpha, what happened?" Jessica, the main pack doctor looked at me with fear in her eyes.
"I met my Mate while I was driving. I wasn't thinking and I ran into her. As you can see her leg is clearly broken." I pointed at her leg where the bone poked through. Jessica cringed at the sight but motioned for a gurney to come over and pick up my beautiful mate.
I couldn't help it as a growl escaped my lips when another pack doctor, Jaden went to pick her up.
"Alpha Damon, I'm sorry but I need to move her without shifting her leg as much as possible." Jaden raised his hands to show he meant her no harm. I simply nodded at him, giving my approval to lift her. After exchanging a few quick words with them, they packed her into the ambulance and drove to the hospital with my driving quickly behind.
My wolf growled at me in the back of my mind.
"Listen, the last time I checked, you were the one that caused me to get lost in her scared brown eyes!" My wolfed whimpered in defeat, knowing that I was right.
