The autumn airs of Scotland gave the Hogwarts fields an earthy smell. I clutched the fabrics closer to my body as I walked, regretting my descision already. It was midnight but I couldn't stay in my stuffy dorm much longer with all my thoughts rambling around in my head, the commotion loud enough to keep any girl awake.
As I strolled the grounds, not really paying much attention, I thought about everything Annabeth and Thalia and Grover said. Luke, going against the girls? Unthinkable. He was after all, the brother I never had. There was the time when we visited his mom and he came out all pissed but that was not a reason to go against the gods, was that? He hated his father, anyone who's ever talked to him knew that.
But the thought of him going after Annabeth, Thalia and maybe even me... it just seems so out of character, as un-Luke-like he could ever get.
"Luke, how did you get in here?"
"You'd be surprised with all the perks of being the son of Hermes can get you. Free access everywhere." He smirked, picking at his nails before looking up. "How've you been? It's been what, five years? Too long."
"Luke, what are you doing here?" I won't lie to myself, I missed him.
