Of Scars and Slugs

Friends reuniting

Lily, a young woman with light blue hair, walks toward her destination with her slugs on her armored shoulders. Jokul, her frost crawler, looks around with a glare while her other two slugs (Boon a boon doc and Flitt, a hoverbug) rest on her other shoulder. The woman smiles as the Shane hideout comes into her view. She fixes her bangs to that they cover her right eye, and walks up to the door. She knocks lightly and waits patiently for the door to open. She hears footsteps advance on the door before the door opens. Lily's smile grows wider when she sees her friend standing in the door way, rubbing her eyes tiredly.

"Astrus!" The blunette squeals happily.

The ravenette's gray eyes fly open at the sound of the over woman's voice. "Lily? Oh my God! It's really you!" Both women embrace before Astrus invites her friend in. "How are you?"

Lily shrugs, "Been better. But how about you? Heard through the grapevine that you're dating someone in the Shane gang! Is it the guy you told me all about back in Quiet Lawn?"

"Well," Astrus laughs nervously, "I'm dating the leader."

"You're dating the Shane?" She whisper hisses. "And I'm just now finding out about it? I thought we were friends!" she acts like she's hurt emotionally.

Astrus just laughs and shakes her head. "We are friends it's just that a lot has happened lately and I haven't gotten time to talk to you."

Lily smirks, "I see. So the Shane boy's keeping you busy, is he?"

Scarlet explodes in Astrus' face. "It's not like that! I swear!!" Lily laughs. The two look at the door as it opens again and two guys walk in. One Lily recognized as Eli Shane, but the other male was unknown to her. He has black hair that has the bangs spiked upwards and some of it is up in a little top knot while the rest is down. He has light brown eyes that looked her over. Just like Eli, the other slinger has an infurnus slug on his shoulder.

"Hello," Lily says softly, catching the attention of the two slingers. "I'm Lilian Chaos, a friend of Astrus'."

Eli blinks, "I'm Eli Shane, nice to meet you." He jerks his thumb towards the male next to him, "Thats Junjie, he doesn't talk much." Junjie bows politely, his infurnus slug doing the same.

"It's nice to meet both of you!" Lily smiles. Astrus elbows her friend in the side, smirks and darts her eyes quickly at Junjie once she got Lily's attention. Lily's eyes widen and she looks away from Junjie. Eli goes into a room leaving the three alone.

"So," Astrus begins with a smirk in her lips.

"Astrus, please, I beg of you, don't do it," Lily whispers. Lily tenses when she sees Astrus get up and head in the direction that Eli went. Jokul chirps at his slinger for reassurance when he sees the terror in her eyes. Astrus, who is intent on getting some revenge in her friend, enters the same room that Eli entered just a few minutes before.

Silence falls in the room creating an awkward tension between the two slingers. Lily twiddles her thumbs in a way to keep busy until her friend returned. If she returned.

"You have a boon doc?" Junjie asks. Lily squeaks in surprise then nods. "They're rare to find."

"Yeah. I owe a lot to this little guy," she admits while petting the green slug's head.

"Oh? May I ask what you mean by that?"

Her hand raises towards her covered eye instinctively. "Back when I'd still duel, I got hit in the eye by a flaringo's fire. Jokul put the flames out and kept the area cold, then Boon tried his best to heal the wound. Now I can only see out of my left eye." She sighs and her slugs look up at her sadly. "But it's okay! They tried their bests, and I'm still alive so I have no complaints!" He three slugs chirp at her happily, nuzzling against her stomach.

"Why do you keep it covered?" Junjie asks softly.

"I don't want people to see it." He nods in understanding. She was going to ask him about himself, but stops herself when Astrus and Eli reenter the room.

"I told Eli everything, I hope you don't mind, Lily."

She smiles, "Not at all! So, he knows about..." She points her her covered eye to finish her question. Astrus nods. "It sounded like you two were getting along well."

Lily's cheeks gain a slight dusting of pink, "I guess. I mean, we were just talking."

"I know, but you actually told him about it." Astrus leans over to her friend's ear. "Did he see?" she whispers. Lily shakes her head while slowly standing up from the sofa.

"I should probably head back to my home. Do you need anything from your house, Astrus?"

"I'll go with you, so that we can catch up." She turns to look a Eli, "We'll be safe, okay?" He nods, sitting on the down on the sofa.

"Have fun, okay?"

"We will!" Astrus replies while exiting the hideout, Lily trailing behind.
