I wake up suddenly, that nagging feeling in the back of my head, it's too late. I turn to look to my right, the light shining through the curtainless windows.
What time is it? I turn to my left and reach for my phone, which I put on charge last night. 4:23 it read. I checked my alarms to see if 5:50 was still on, it was.
I sighed and put my phone next to me. I was about to close my eyes to go back to sleep when I heard a soft 'meow'. I leaned up on my left arm and looked down at the floor where the grey cat stood, looking up at me and meowing continuously, walking up and down, desperately looking for a place it can jump onto the bed. I lay back down, and feel a soft dent on the cover straight after. It jumped up. It immediately came walking my way, still meowing. I pull the cover over my head and hide away from the cat. It finally gave up looking for attention, and went to lay down at my feet, resting it's head on my leg.
I know what you're thinking, why do I keep on calling it an 'it'? Well, I don't know it's gender. It's my cousin's cat and I only arrived yesterday. Plus, I really don't care.
I'm in my cousin Ruby's amazing room. It's huge! She's sleeping directly across from me at the windows, and she's the reason I woke up with that thought, it's too late. She's ten years old and is still busy with school, only finishing next week Friday. Today she's going to school and she asked me yesterday to wake her up at 5:50 am.
So here I am, lying in bed, unable to go back to sleep, for reasons I have no idea about. I think maybe it's because the windows have no curtains, and the light is shining through. It's not a bright light, it's more like a cold morning light.
So I decide to get out of bed to go use the bathroom. I returned and still it wasn't close to 5:50. So I decided to play Candy Crush. After I lost the second level, I switched it off and lay back down again. I'm bored. I was just about to fall asleep when the alarm went off. I switched it off and walked over to Ruby's bed and woke her up.She hesitantly got up, looking tired, and got dressed in her school uniform. I got all my things I needed from my suitcase and went to take a shower. Oh how I love showers! I find them more hygienic than baths. I mean with a shower, its running water washing everything away. With a bath you're surrounded by your dirty water and there's no telling whether you take the dirt out with you or not. Plus showers save water😋.
