When I turned thirteen I wanted to start a sport. I didn't want just any sport I wanted one that made me feel like I could touch the sky. I wanted one that made me feel invincible. While I was going over ideas in my head one came. Why not do gymnastics? I mean, I loved it when I was little so why not? I told my mom about it and she enrolled me in the Academy of Gymnastics or AG for short. Since I already had some of the skills I started at the intermediate level instead of beginner. I did classes three times a week and started to climb the levels. The gym was like a second home to me. My teammates well they were like siblings I never had. Everything was fine until one fateful competition where everything changed. I was sixteen at the time and I had done all the events except for floor. Floor was the event that I had the most trouble with. All my teammates already competed and it was my turn. The music started and my body started to move like it has a million times before. Everything was going just fine until the ending. My ending consisted of a back-walkover, backhand spring step out, aerial, then tuck. It all went fine until the tuck. I remember hearing a crack and screams but it didn't last long because right after I heard the first scream it all went black. I woke up the next day in the hospital. Minutes later the doctor came in and told me that I had broken my foot in a place that is very fragile and that I would need surgery.
"What happened?" I asked
"You were tumbling and landed wrong. You seriously don't remember?" He said
"No" I said.
"When will my surgery be?" I asked
"Tomorrow afternoon" He confirmed
Then he left and my mom came in. When she saw that I was awake she rushed to my side and pulled me in for a hug. When she pulled away I saw she has been crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said that I have been out for 2 days.
