Atticus Clark had always felt lonely. Like no one understood him, like they just couldn't comprehend what was happening in his mind. Even amongst people like him, demigods, children of the Greek gods, Atticus felt isolated. The owner of the home, Annie Grace, did everything that she could to help the young boy, but it was several months after his arrival in her home that she realized what she needed to do.
Jacy King was, just like Atticus, a child of Athena, the goddess of Wisdom. After Annie Grace explained to the older girl Atticus' situation, she completely understood. Jacy took Atticus under her wing, always understanding what he was trying to do or say and always comforting him when other kids made fun of him.
When Atticus was fourteen, he began to try and search down his heritage, believing that with the new absence of Jacy, who had finally moved away, finding his family would be how to fill that void.
It took him a year and a half to find out that his father had been Wakandan before his death. Then, after long discussions with both Jacy and Annie Grace, Atticus decided he wanted to explore that side of himself and went to Wakanda.
There, Atticus met the resident genius, Shuri, and somehow managed to solve a problem she'd been stuck on. After that, Atticus found himself a permanent home in Shuri's lab, and maybe something else develops in his heart for the other genius.
