I coughed and choked on what seemed like water, but it wasn't. My eyes slowly opened, the sun shining on my face and a cool breeze brushing across my stiffened face. I raised my hands up to my face, to see they weren't bloody, weren't scratched up, and I immediately sat up, dazed. I was laying on the beach, the sun was shining and it was starting to get warm.

The first question I had was simple.

Why am I here?

Then I remembered the memory a small blotch to me. The sounds of water splashing, gasping, and my arms thrashing back and forth until my muscles burned. The struggling, the pushing, the pressure on my chest that kept me down, the fall, and the giving up.

Did I... Survive? No. The answer was clear as day, so what the hell is going on?

I immediately spot my body laying on the beach. It stood out as if someone were to see a giant ocean in the desert. There it was, my body through what seemed like someone's else's eyes. I was sprawled out in this strange position like a doll had been carelessly tossed to the ground. My legs were twisted in a broken looking way, long streaks of blood lined my legs, my head lay faced up, my eyes wide, cold and lifeless. My body had washed up on the beach, and had been laying there for God knows how long.

My curly raven black curls were matted to my head with dried blood, my hair also looked damp and salted with the sand from the beach. The beach shore kept washing against my lifeless face, up to the brim of my nose until my nose was leaking with sea water.

I couldn't feel a thing, but I was panicked. I'm too scared to touch the body lying there but too scared to look away. Suddenly, I wasn't alone. A lady taking a run across the shore had spotted my dead body, curious, she had been walking towards it and dropped her phone and earphones once she saw.

The lady screamed when she saw me. She immediately panicked, gasping, and sinking to her knees. Her husband who was not too far behind, embraced her, as she covered her mouth. Her hazel eyes seemed to be saying, "Who could do such a thing?"

Soon, the ambulance had joined the scene along with police, pulling my lifeless body into a body bag once they figured there was no saving needed because I was dead... permanently.

"Student Treece Bill, a teenager who went strangely missing three days ago, her body was found on the beach shore. We have found no evidence of who could have done this. Police today are searching for more evidence." I had gone missing three days ago. They had just found my body washed up on the beach, I later learned from the news reports. I had been missing for three days, asleep for three days. I woke up... dead.

I still couldn't get past the fact that I was dead. I followed my parents home when they got the news, I took a seat in the back of their silver family car. "Mom..? Dad...?" I try again. They had no idea, I was there. Their eyes were glazed over from crying. Neither one of them spoke.
