Caroline: It is pretty hard raising seven kids. It made it a little easier when Mary and Laura moved out. I love the kids but I don't think I want anymore. There are already four kids in the loft and... well... Grace had to sleep down here because she is still too small.
Interviewer: Are they all your children, or are some adopted?
Caroline: Well... Mary, Laura, Carrie, and Grace are my own children. And Albert, James, and Cassandra are all children that Charles and I had adopted.
Interviewer: How much time do they take out of your day?
Caroline: Well, breakfast takes longer than when I use to cook for five people, but now I have to cook for seven people. And I'm always busy or in a rush when the kids have to go to school because I have to make the food faster. But I've learned to deal with it because after all, I have to cook for several people at the restaurant, so it's not as bad as that. Umm... I have more clothes to wash, more sweeping because the kids bring in so much dirt into the house, especially Albert. I don't know why though. I also have to spend more money on everyone and I have barely any left over for the things I want. But it's all worth it in the long run because I love all my children, all the time, no matter what happens.
Carrie: Ma! Grace got into the wash water again!
Caroline: Well... most of the time.
