All The Stars
Love, let's talk about love
is it anything and everything you hoped for?
It was Sophomore year, the year were you finally feel like you would belong. Little did you know that that wouldn't be the case, in fact it was just a continuation off of last year... You standing in your best friends shadow. You didn't mind it really, in fact, you were glad she took the spotlight, it drew all the unwanted attention away from you. It was a blessing in disguise really, being best friends with one of the most popular girls in school. Her name being Lydia Martin was enough to have all the boys drooling and tripping over themselves. (Teen wolf anyone? ;) )
She was beyond smart yet hid it from nearly everyone, even her boyfriend of a year who often joined us for lunch. You had other friends apart from Lydia but you were closest to her, spending almost every weekend together either going shopping or talking about boys, even though she was happily taking with the captain of the lacrosse team.
To everyone else, you were just her nerdy best friend who had a great fashion sense thanks to Lydia, and you didn't it one bit. Not till the boy you were crushing on started to take notice... of your best friend. It was subtle at first, you would notice his eyes rake over Lydia, smiling in admiration as if she was some sort of angel. You knew Lydia, she was no angel. She could be manipulatively charming when she wanted to be. She was head over heels for her boyfriend, Jackson, yet often got caught making out in the coach's office with half of the lacrosse team, You weren't saying she was a slut or anything she just... knew how to have a good time. After catching either her of Jackson cheating on each other it didn't really seem to surprise you. It was a weird relationship their one so you stayed far clear of it.
"So what should I wear for the dance tomorrow night?" Lydia had asked you, snapping you from your trance. You take your eyes off of the cute brown eyes boy and turned to face Lydia with a nervous smile.
"Why not your white dress, with the silver neck line?" You offered, not wanting to get caught that you weren't paying attention for the past 5 minutes. Lydia seemed to think about it for a moment before frowning to herself.
"Nope, this calls for a shopping spree!" She perks up, her red covered lips smiling at you. You smiled back and rolled your eyes playfully at her.
"Do I have to come this time? I already have a dress" You responded sarcastically, skipping her in the line to grab food from the serving counter. Lydia glared at you jokingly.
"Yes by definition of best friend, you don't have a choice" She states proudly, shoving a cherry into her mouth with a devilish smile.
"Of course your Majesty" You joked back, causing the both of you to laugh. Once you both had your food, you had made your way over to the center of the cafeteria, taking a seat on opposite ends of each other. Jackson and his lacrosse friends soon joined you, seeming to be happy about the semi finals coming up in a few short weeks. You had turned around to talk to you other best friend, Danny who so also happened to be Jackson's best friend.
