Big Ben & The Eye

Before you read, yes we know that only UK residents can visit Big Ben ._. but we had to include it e.e Oh and let's pretend that Liam doesn't have a girlfriend? xD Sorry, we love you, Danielle!! But it's just for the story!

After eating breakfast at a little cafe, Adri and Jassy went to go see Big Ben. It looked amazing!

They walked to the entrance.

"Good, it's free" said Adri.

They waited for a while and finally their group went in. There we about 14 other people with them. And the tour guide. Jassy took her phone out and was about to snap a picture.

"Please do not take pictures" said the tour guide firmly.

"Um, okay" said Jassy rather surprised.

The tour guide said they would be climbing 334 steps to the Belfry.

"Ughh" complained Adri, "I really wouldn't be doing this if we weren't in Big Ben."

They were all given earplugs by the guide for when they got up there, she said it would be "Fairly Loud".

"I'm so exited!" said Jassy, "besides all the stairs; but can you believe it? We're actually in THE Big Ben!"

After climbing about a hundred stairs they stopped at a room, where the tour guide told them a bit of the tower's history.

"My feet are killing me!" whispered Jassy to Adri and she almost fell down the steps. Then they followed the rest of the group into the room.

"I know! Mine too! And there's still like 200 more steps" said Adri.

"Thanks for reminding me" said Jassy sarcastically.

The guide told them that in 1843 they started building the clock and it was completed in 1854. She told us more of it's history, which was actually quite interesting. You could tell she was really into the subject.

The next stop on the tour was The Clock Face. Jassy and Adri kept complaining about their legs hurting. They were practically crawling up the stairs, and kept receiving weird looks from other people In the group.

When they got there, Jassy said "I just wish we could open one of the hatches so we could look out of the most famous clock face on Earth!"

"I know, that would be amazing! Like in 'Hugo' when he climbed out onto the clock and held onto one of the clock hands. But instead of being in a train station in Paris' clock, we'd be in Big Ben!" said Adri and she laughed.

They finally made it to the belfry in time to watch Big Ben strike 11:00am. The guide instructed them all to put their earplugs in. The view was truly spectacular. You could see all of London.

"Two more minutes until 11am!" said Jassy excitedly.

"What?" asked Adri, since she had her earplugs in.

"Two. More. Minutes" mouthed Jassy.

"Ohh Okay" Adri mouthed back, "I can't wait!"

The guide kept a close eye on her watch and held up one finger, telling them there was a minute left.

Then Ten seconds. Adri and Jassy counted down with their fingers.
