Bryan's POV

The woman who owns the agency, Jenny, told Brian and I to go see what was taking Charlotte and Bruno so long in getting their things, since they packed last night.

So, the three of us walked out of the room and upstairs, only to hear someone yell out "JENNY!!" it sounded like Charlotte, so I high tailed it into the room that the twins were and a boy, the same age, holding Bruno with a knife to his throat.

"DANIEL BROWN PUT MR ROBERT'S DOWN THIS INSTANCE! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING WITH THAT THING?!" Jenny yelled, pointing at the knife in his hand as soon as she saw the scene that was unfolding in front of her eyes, what happened next, I think supprised everyone, Daniel threw Bruno on the floor and brought out a gun and pointed it at Charlotte.

"If you won't stay here, then you aren't staying on this planet too long, Nightie night, princess, see you soon." He grinned, then pulled the trigger...

I tried to run in front of her to stop the bullet from hitting her, but I couldn't, it's like my feet were stuck to the ground.

The scene that took place next felt like it played in slow motion, I looked at Charlotte trying to move so that I could move her out of the way, but my feet felt heavy and I couldn't move, even if I tried, before the bullet hit her I saw this blur of colour sprinting towards Charlotte, when the woman landed on the floor with the bullet in her chest that's when I realized who it was, it was Jenny, that's when my legs decided they could work.

I ran towards Jenny as did the twins while Brian was on his phone with, who I'm guessing 911 and held the boy, Daniel, by the arm so tight that even if he tried he couldn't escape, and let me tell you, Brian has one hell of a death grip when he is angry and right now he is more than angry, I could tell by the was Daniel's arm was turning red and Brian was clenching his teeth together so hard I thought he was going to break them.

"Jenny? Jenny wake up!! Please? JENNY YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!!!!! I LOVE YOU, JENNY, I love you, mummy." She whispered the last part, probably thinking that no one could hear her, and I'm surprised I did, she said it almost audible, "Please, wake up, I need you, I know I'm getting adopted but I still need you, please." Charlotte cried, hugging Jenny, blood staining her shirt but I could tell that right now, she could careless.

"Char-Charlotte i-it-it's ok-okay. It-it's my ti-tim-time. I wi-will t-tel-tell yo-you-your par-paren-parents tha-that y-yo-you m-mis-miss t-th-them. Do-don-don't c-cr-cry Cha-Charl-Carlott-Charlotte I-I'l-I'll be wat-watch-watching o-ov-over y-you and yo-your bro-brot-brother." Jenny slurred as blood dripped from her mouth and with her last words, I saw her going limp in Charlortte's arms as Charlotte continued to cry on her chest.

"Char?" I heard a voice say, I turned around and saw a guy, the same age as her.

"Damian, what are you doing here?" She asked.

"Well, I kind of live here, remember?" He said, with a little laugh.

"Yeah, sorry." She said, as she continued to cry on Jenny's chest.

"What happened? Why has Jenny got a bullet in her? Char??" Damian asked, worry thick in his voice.

"D-Daniel sh-shot her, i-i-it's all m-y fa-ul-t!!! WHY JENNY???!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ME!!!!! This is all my fault." Charlotte whispered the last part to herself.

"Char, what are you talking about? Of cause it's not your fault." Damian spoke, tring to comfort my adopted daughter.

"But it is, Daniel was aiming at me, I'M supposed to be dead, not her, why Dam, why???" She asked as she cried in his shoulder since he pulled her into a hug.
