Chapter 16
As Miriam and I stepped into the house, I heard a familiar voice or should I say voices. I stopped dead in my tracks when I realized that it was Amy and Steve me adoptive parents. I gave Miriam a look of horror before she took my hand and lead the way to see what was going on. Quickly without making eye contact with anyone sat down next to my Dad.
“Stupid girl! Look at us! Because this little vacation is coming to an end.”
Amy said, each word dripped with venom and reacted with hatred for everyone else in the room. Before any one of my siblings could fight back Steve jumped in.
“Didn’t you people think that you had to have some legal arrangements made before you savages just take her from her home. You might have created her but WE are the ones the cared for her.”
Steve said, more so to my parents the me. The when my Dad broke the unbearable silence.
“Of course we have legal arrangements made. We requested custody back the day she moved here. Not only were we granted it, but you have no right to get in to a battle here because you told her to get out.”
My dad said standing up to Steve. All of this was true.
“Not only that but this is were she is HAPPY. If she were to go back with you rude people she would be nothing but unhappy. This is were she belongs. With her FAMILY.”
My mother said putting her arm around me. Then the door busted open and in came Sergio leading the police in.
“Since you basically broke into my home, harassed us, made false legal accusations you’ll be escorted out by the Central Madrid Police. Adios!!!”
Sergio said while stepping aside and letting the police cuff the pair of people that I thought really loved me.
“We have rights! I want a lawyer! Get off of me!”
Amy screamed.
“This is far from the end! I’ll sue your asses for all they’re worth!!”
Steve yelled before Sergio slammed the door closed and blew a kiss at the two of them.
“Well that was fun. Now who wants to eat?!”
My mom said while getting up and clapping her hands together. We all smiled and made our way to the table.
