WHY!!!

 Dad came home drunk again.Mom wasn't awake but I was fully.He smelled like a bar.No matter how many times he says he is going to quit he never does.The only thing that was different this time was that he had a girl with him.The girl looked like she was in her early 20's.I was smart for a seven year old, and knowing dads temper, I hid in my closet.Dad went to work right in the doorway.My room was right next to the door.From my closet I watched my father, the man who told my mother everyday that she was the only one he had eyes for, tear his marriage apart.This wasn't the first time he had done it.I had heard the same girls moans countless times before.My mom had bought me a camera for my seventh birthday and I recorded the ordeal.

The next morning my mom was up cooking breakfast as always, when HE came down.The girl had left an hour before mom got up.Dad came down as he always did and told mom how munched he loved her and kissed her forehead.I wanted to slap his face away from her but I had to wait until he had left the house for work.He came over to pat my head but I threw his hand off.         " A little grumpy We are this morning I see," he laughed. I stayed quiet.He gave me a fearful look and left for work.

"What's wrong sweetheart," said mom in her sweet voice.I looked her dead in the eyes and went to my room to grab my camera.When I came back I showed her all of the recordings of dad and the girl.Mom look at me and saw me crying. "I'm so sorry momma," I said in tears,"I just couldn't stand that, that man faking his love for you anymore." Mom took me into her arms and held me there.She was sobbing as well. "You my darling are one of the bravest people I know, it takes a lot of guts to do what you just did even though you knew the outcome." She voice was soft and sweet, but filled to the brim with hurt.

When dad got home that day mom just looked at him.I was standing right next to her.He looked nervous for a minute and then said, "how are my two favorite people in the world?" Mom stood there with the same blank expression.I had missed school that day to help mom out. "Can it Jack, our daughter had showed me something very interesting after you left to day." Dad did his best to try and look puzzled. "What did she show you dear?" Mom put her hand down to my level and I placed my camera in her hands.Mom played All of the videos I had of dad and the girl. 

He stood there look at the camera then at me and then at mom.At first he tried to delete the videos but we had backed them up on 14 different hard drives. "Jackie PLEASE let me explain," he looked petty. "No Jack you listen, I have put up with you for long enough.First the drinking then WOMAN." Dad look terrified. "I have had enough, you never think about us anymore! I want you out of my house now, and don't even think for a second that you can win rights over our daughter." Dad look at me. He turned red with furry. He jumped at me and beat me senseless. Mom took a knife and thrust it in to his side as she called 911. A officer arrived do along with a ambulance. Dad was put in the car, still bleeding and I was put in the ambulance. I woke up a few days later with bruises everywhere. The ones on my face healed quickly and soon after I was discharged from the hospital.

Once home, mom packed all of dads things and burned them to ash. I was to start back at school the next day. I was not the only kid in class who had no friends, know I have to hide my scars from my school.
