After saving Bill, I had my fill of vampires. I hoped that he wouldn't come back but I knew he would. He was infatuated with my sister. Once a vampire wants something, I knew that they wouldn't give up.

The place wasn't too busy which was nice. I enjoyed working with Tara since she had become the nee bartender. Sam had more freedom to be a owner. Besides Tara, we also got a new kitchen staff: Terry Belfleur. He was a sweet man but his PTSD was strong. I hoped that this job would help ease him into his new life. Arlene had tonight off so she & Rene were hanging out.

"Hey Rene." I said as I passed by them to get some drinks

"Hey Tes, aren't you so chipper tonight." Rene sweetly replied

"Friendly brings home the bacon. Apparently, I scare everyone away with my resting bitch face." I said which made both of them laugh

"Its not entirely your face hun. Its all the times you've tossed people out." Arlene chuckled

"Everyone in this pea of a town knows that you're the meanest little bouncer Merlottes has ever had." Rene added

"In that case, I'll take it as a compliment. Gotta get to work." I said before leaving to deliver the drinks

A few people sat down in my section so I went to serve them. It was an elderly couple so I was patient. After helping them pick through the menu, I went to the kitchen to drop off the ticket. As I left the kitchen, the place was dead silent & I immediately saw why.

Bill had come back again like I thought. Sookie was stupidly sitting next to him like he couldn't hurt her in a million ways. I stayed with Sam & Tara as I listened into their conversation. My knuckles turned white when Sookie asked him to stay after her shift. I was so focused on them that I didn't feel Sam & Tara shake me after a couple times.

"What?" I growled at them

"Its Jason. He needs your help." Sam said before handing me the phone

"Jason, what the hell is going on? Are you okay?" I frantically answered

"Yes, I'm just peachy. I need you to pick me up from the sheriffs please? I'm a little drunk & Bud took my keys." Jason replied

"Fine, I'll come over. But, you better tell me everything in the car." I curtly said before hanging up

"Go ahead. I'll let Sookie know. I got my eye on her." Sam said with a tiny smile

"I'll take her home. Don't worry." Tara said as I put my apron down

"Thanks, I owe you both." I replied before rushing out with my things & sooks keys.

I got to the station in 20 minutes as I drove slowly to calm myself. Getting Jason was easy as he was waiting for me on the bench. Bud needed to see that he had a sober ride home. The car ride home was mostly silent until we got halfway.

"A murder charge?! What the hell have you been doing? I don't want to know who damn it." I screamed

"They thought that I killed Maudette cause I've been seeing her. But, there was a tape of her that cleared my name. Now they're looking into other people that she was close to." Jason explained, still hiding something

"I told you to stay away from her. For once, I'd love it if you listened to us more than your dick." I replied just as a vision of Sookie came in. The Rattrays were beating her up in the parking lot which made my fangs pop out & my eyes turn icy blue

"Oh shit, who is it?" Jason shouted as he jumped from my transformation

"Sookie. Bring the car back in the morning." I growled before jumping out. Jason quickly took my place & kept driving to his house. I began sprinting back to work.
