It was a cold evening which is normal because its Wisconsin, and I was casually hanging out with a friend. They turn on a song that had recently came out by a band called, Panic! At The Disco. At first I didn't know what to think of it, because this was a different style of music that I wasn't used to, the song was called Death of a Bachelor. I don't know how but I immediately fell in love. I don't know what made the song so good. The chorus? The melody? Just his voice? It was amazing! I thought I had heard of the band before, but it just happened to be I Write Sins Not Tragedies which was a song id heard many times on the radio but I thought nothing of it. Later as my friend went home, I kept listening to it non- stop, and had figured out that an album titled Death of a Bachelor had recently been made also! I know I was new to the fandom, but I was so excited to hear this.
I listened to the album many times, and then the next year rolled around, 2017. So, my birthday is in October, and I was begging my mom for some merch, but I got something even better. Something I never imagined would happen. The morning of October 27th, I wake up and I get led into the living room by my mom. She shows me these four small slips of paper, and she tells me to read them, I say ok, and of course I start reading. They say something among the lines of, Panic! At The Disco concert, Rave/Eagles Ballroom, December 15th. I was in shock. I couldn't believe this was happening. I was just so happy!
This brings me to the day of the concert. So by now the date is December 15th, the highly anticipated date my mom, somefriends and I were all looking forward to. We got there a bit late, so we were sitting on the balcony, we didn't have that great of a view, but I was still freaking out. We were actually seeing Brendon Urie. Not just the man who I saw in all those music videos and interviews. Brendon Urie was in the same room as me. That still didn't sink in. As he comes out the crowd is cheering so loud, I can't even hear him. He starts preforming, and were all screaming the lyrics to all the songs. The concert ends and we all scream "THIS WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF OUR LIVES!!!" Yet little did we know, it could get even better.
So now its 2018 and its spring break, and im even MORE into Panic! At The Disco. My mom is also into the band even more than before. So when we heard Brendon was doing these pop-up shows, we almost drove to cleveland because we didn't know that he was doing more of these shows. The date now was March 24th 2018 about 9pm at night and like every night we checked Panic! At The Disco's Twitter page to see if they were playing any shows near us. My mom was downstairs with me alongside two of my friends and screams "NO FREAKING WAY, SHUT UP, SHUT UP" She didn't even have to show me her phone for me to know. Panic! At The Disco was coming here for a pop-up show. I fell down on the floor, not afraid to cry. I started balling as hard as I could. I was so happy I couldn't even express with words. One of my friends who was with me was really happy too! We still had a few problems though. 1: Where the show was 2: If we would get in 3: If where it was, was a 18+ place.
So now it's the morning on the 25th and I had all post notifications on. Every app, Instagram, Twitter, Etc. Its about 9:00-10:00 AM and I get a notification. I see a few words, The Rave Bar, First come, First serve. I scream, "GET IN THE CAR NOW ITS AT THE RAVE" My mom, My friend and I all rush to the car faster than the speed of light, and in the nick of time, we are there. We were waiting in line for a while, then finally we got numbered. I was number 161. We got to go home for a bit until the show. I was so pumped!
Now its the night of the show and we were getting lined up by our numbers in the cold winter air. We got inside and got wrist banded, I still couldn't believe this was happening. We got to our spots where we were standing, and I was so close I could touch the stage! The only bad thing was that we had to wait an hour for them to get on stage. The hour passed like thin air and before we knew it, he was on.
Just like the last show, Everyone was screaming the lyrics, but this time, we could almost touch him. Its the end of a song and my mom and a few people she met scream, "WE LOVE YOU KENNY!!!" I felt something hit my face and my mom screamed, "HE THREW A PICK AT YOU" I search the ground with my flashlight hoping to find the pick, and I did! About halfway through Girls/Girls/Boys I hold up half a heart and he actually smiled at me! Eventually the best night of my life comes to a end.
I still couldn't believe that night was real, then a few nights later I got one more gift. The day the Pray For The Wicked tickets came out, My mom told me that she got tickets for the one in Chicago on July 17th. I still can't believe this is real, and im just so happy this beautiful, amazing, and just all around great soul, Brendon Urie lives. He sends out great vibes and im just so happy he exists. Thank you so much Brendon. ILY <3
