((* I've decided that every 10 chapters will be strictly memory. And short (but most wont be this short, I'm just tired of making you wait). But if that's a dumb idea, tell me! I want feedback from my readers. If I do something bad, please message me or comment. You guys are why I write so I'd love to hear from you! *))

*Edd*

"Eddy, I can't believe you!" Thirteen year old Edd (less than a month after the kiss with Kevin) said, astonished, "Why on Earth would you hide something like this, and in your own mother's home!? Last time, do you even recall-"

"Least I didn't lose 'em this time," Eddy mumbled, "These magazines are just the lowlights of my sex life."

"I'm not sure that your activities count as a sex life..." Edd crossed his arms and laid back against the headboard of Eddy's bed. It wasn't the most comfortable way to sit, considering his shoulder blades were stabbing his flesh.

"Like you're any better, Marion..." Eddy mumbled as Ed sat quietly on Double D's bed with a box of Grade A eggs trying to warm them to hatch.

Ed looked up at the two, "Don't argue in front of the children, Eddy and Double D!" he said in a whining tone, pissing Eddy off. Eddy got annoyed pretty easily, especially today; Edd could tell already that Eddy would have high blood pressure as an adult.

"Those fuckin' eggs aren't even alive, dicklick!" Eddy shouted, "You can't eat the ones with chickens in them!"

Edd rolled his eyes and got up, leaving the house abruptly. He and Eddy had fought a quad-zillion times, and it seemed like Eddy liked taking out a lot of his frustration on Ed. Double D hoped that if Eddy was still angry, he would follow him outside and refrain from crushing Ed's dreams any further.

Sure enough, Double D heard Eddy's back door slam shut, and the sound of his footsteps on the snow. "That little ass-fuck in there needs to mind his own business."

"You're angry because I simply stated the truth."

"That's not what I'm mad about, and I wasn't trying to say what you think I was..." Eddy shifted his weight and sighed, shaking his hand through his short hair. "Double D... are you gay?"

"What in the world! Why would you ask something like that?"

"See? You're even acting weird about it. Something changed, and you've seemed awful know-it-all-y about stuff. You were always know-it-all-y but not about the stuff you are now."

"My Lord, are you really that concerned? You're twisting things around."

"About what?"

Edd squinted, "I know this isn't just a random question."

Eddy sighed again, "Okay, fine. I saw you kiss Kevin."

"You, what?" Double D turned blood red, suddenly feeling light-headed.

"Or, I saw him kiss you. I don't want you getting trapped by his evil allure. I mean... you can be gay, but not with Kevin. Please not with Kevin. He's my enemy and you're my friend and I might lose you."

"Don't worry, Eddy," Edd said quietly, "No matter what, you are my best friend and I will never betray you or desert you. But I like Kevin, and if I'm ever with him romantically, I will want you to forgive me. Well, you know, I'll need your support."

"Fine, I'll try. But if I get mad, you gotta come beat the shit out of me. If I start acting like a dick, tell me. Okay? Cause I know how I am and you know, even that sloth in there hatching dead eggs knows."

Edd laid in his bed, closing his eyes. He felt especially flustered right then and he didn't know what to do to fix it. He usually knew some therapeutic breathing exercise or something, but this feeling wasn't one of anxiety, it was just something strange. Like hope, or fear, maybe both; and as soon as he sorted out those things he knew: he was hopeful that he could be with Kevin, and afraid to lose his friends.

What do I want? He asked himself, What if I can't have both?

*Kevin*

"Kevin!" His dad called as he stomped up the stairs, "Did you take my money?"

"No," Kevin lied, the crisp 100 dollar bill was hidden in an envelope, inside his sketchbook, inside a folder that was inside the drawer of his nightstand, "I thought you only got paid on Fridays, isn't that what you said? Today's Wednesday."

"If I find out you're lying to me..." Kevin's dad took a step closer and pointed a hairy finger at Kevin, his other hand clutching his empty, worn out leather wallet, "You're gonna get it."

Without batting an eye, Kevin replied, "Well, I'm not lying, dad. If I see it around somewhere I'll give it to you."

His dad scoffed, a tobacco-stuffed lip curling into a smirk, and went back downstairs to guzzle a pint of Bacardi and grumble to himself.

Ever since his mom died, Kevin's dad turned into an alcoholic and Kevin had turned into a delinquent. The only thing keeping Kevin off the passageway to prison was Double Dork. And Nazz, of course. She would kick his ass if he got into trouble with the cops.

He had been stealing money for weed from his dad for a few months now, but his dad was always so drunk he couldn't remember anything was missing the next day, he thought he must have just bought a lot of booze.

Kevin had changed a lot in the past few months; he didn't even waste his time borrowing hetero porn from Nat anymore, he no longer cared about 'turning himself straight', he had come to the conclusion that it was impossible. Instead, he just got off thinking about Edd, which kind of seemed weird, but it worked. When he imagined Edd like that, his puberty-driven senses went into hyperdrive.

Which was why he knew he should never have sex with Edd. He wouldn't last, seeing Edd like that, he wouldn't make it, and then Edd would hate him and never talk to him again.

I feel guilty, he would always think, Edd would probably die if he could read my mind.

"Hey, Double Dweeb," Kevin said to (none other than) Edd, knocking his shoulder into Eddy as he passed the trio in the school hallway.

Nat laughed and gave Kevin a high-five, saying, "Three times today, man!"

"I swear to the gods if Satan bumps my shoulder again..." Kevin heard Eddy grumble to the others, and Kevin busted out laughing.

"I don't see what's funny about this," said an annoyed voice that made Kevin's laughter halt in his throat, "We're going to be in high school next year. Please, men, if this term should be appropriate for you, be mature."

"Yes, my lady," Nat said, throwing in a bow, "If you'd like, I shall cream-eth your--"

"Hey," Kevin snapped, "That's enough. Let's get to class."
