Chapter 38: Moving Forward

* Karri's POV *

I had been doing everything I could musically to keep my mind off everything that had happened. Me & Peter hadn't been intimate because of the situation. Rather than talking about it, we kept quiet & handled it different from each other. I came threw the door pulling off my shoes, when I noticed Peter in the kitchen sniffing.

Karri: Peter?

Peter: Yeah?

Karri: You alright?

Peter: Yeah.

I walked over & grabbed the wine bottle on the counter. The whole bottle was empty. Peter was staring at the wall other than me. It was like he didn't want to even look me in my face.

Karri: What's wrong?

Peter: Nothing. Go on & get ready for bed. I'll see you there in a minute.

Karri: Peter?

Peter: Just go on.

When I walked into the bathroom, he already had my bubble bath ready. I got in the warm water, relaxing, finding a way to occupy me before I started to think about what happened to much. I got out & walked inside the bedroom. Peter was sitting on the side of the bed & once he spotted me, he turned the lamp off. He laid down & I laid down beside him.

Karri: The only way we get through this is if we talk about it.

Peter: Nothing's wrong.

Karri: Peter, I know deep down the baby situation is upsetting. I know you wish you actually had the chance to become a dad, but we've got plenty time. Take this time & heal. You're my backbone & I'm yours.

Tears came in his eyes, but he didn't let them fall. He grabbed me into his arms & kissed me.

Peter: I know.

Karri: Trust me, I know how you feel. I've felt a piece of me lost every since that day. It's hard, but going to get better.

Peter: You're right.

He kissed me again & again. We watched the moonlight shine through the window until we fell asleep. Nothing was ever gonna be perfect, but why did this have to happen? As long as I had his back & did the same, we would be unstoppable. Moving forward & leaving the upsetting past behind us.
