The sun was high in the sky as they made their way through the thick woods.

Sophia carried a heavy pack on her back filled with water and the essentials for a hike. They'd walked this walk before and, yet, it was just as beautiful as the first time. The trees were just as tall, just as leafy, just as real and the sun felt just as warm and welcoming on her skin as it had before. Every now and then, she saw flowers blooming in the moss by her feet, their tiny forms sending a delighted smile to her lips. She reached down to pick one and tucked it gently in her jacket pocket for safe keeping.

'Shouldn't be too much further.' Clarke announced as they came to a fallen log. Sophia nodded as she climbed over it carefully. Finn was on the other side to help her down, a smile on his face.

'Thanks.'

'Any time.' She couldn't help but smile back, grateful for the helping hand. She watched as he turned to help Clarke down, the smile on his face different this time, more gentle and meaningful. Sophia's smile changed, excitement tugging it up further. She had to admit that Clarke and Finn fit well together. They seemed to just click together like puzzle pieces.

They took off again once Wells climbed over the trunk, Clarke and Finn walking ahead. Sophia hung back to fall in line with Wells, curiosity burning within her.

'Hey.' She greeted him, reaching up to grab at her bag straps.

'Hi.' He looked forward, watching the ground beneath her feet.

'Everything okay with you and Clarke?' She asked. Sure, she might have been being nosy. But, she could tell that Wells and Clarke were really good friends, the kind that didn't come along very often. If Sophia was honest, they had the kind of friendship she wished she'd had with Luca. Maybe then she would never have been locked up and sentenced to death.

'Yeah. Fine.' He said shortly. Sophia nodded, not entirely happy with his answer.

'You wanna talk about it?' Sophia asked, seeing through his façade. She knew what it looked like to put up walls and pretend that you were okay. She knew what it looked like to pretend that the situation was much better than it actually was. Wells turned to look at her for a moment, his eyes silently calculating how much he could say.

'I made a mistake. And now she hates me.' He said simply.

'A mistake?' Sophia reiterated. 'Mistakes are just mistakes, Wells. I'm sure she'd forgive you if she fully understood.'

'She does understand. That's why she hates me.' Sophia looked at Wells for a moment, truly looked at him. Everything he'd done since they'd gotten down to the ground was to help, to do good. How could he go from that to making a mistake bad enough to make Clarke hate him?

'I don't believe it.' She announced. 'I know that you're a good person. Sure, I might have thought that you were annoying for a while there because of how much you put all of your attention on Clarke. But, I know that you would never do anything to hurt her. Or anyone for that matter. Ever.'

'You don't know me.' He replied flatly.

'No. I don't. But, she does. Remember that.' Wells nodded and the pair fell into silence. They followed Clarke and Finn as they made their way through the woods, each step taking them closer to the water source that had nearly taken Octavia's life, that had shown Sophia how powerful she could be. Now, it was going to save Jasper's life. If they could find the seaweed that the grounder's had used to make that poultice, they could make it into a tea or another poultice to flush out the infection in his system. She hoped to God they could get to it easily.
