Elisabeth Page glanced at the clock with a sigh.  It was already 9:00pm.  Just as she suspected, he was late, -or even better!- or not even planning on showing up.  She waved over the waiter who walked over with a coffee pot in his left hand.

"More coffee again?  Or have you finally decided to listen to my offer?"  the waiter asked with a large smirk on his face.  He was the classic, I'm hot and I can get any girl I want without even trying, type of guy.  Usually, Elisabeth would ignore his taunts, but today was different.  She had been stood up, when they just were getting back together.

Looking into his eyes, Elisabeth gave him a wry smile.  "Sure.  Let's go out together.  How's Tuesday for you?"

The waiter's smirk fell with astonishment taking its place.  It had been 5 months of him asking the same question every week, with 5 months of the same exact answer.  "Not today.  Try again next time."  Although he had never gone after the same girl for weeks, not to mention months, something about her was different.

After a short moment of bewilderment, he regained his confidence.  "Of course milady.  Around 8:00pm?"

"Of course my good sir.  Pick me up at central park.  8:00pm sharp.  Oh, by the way, don't even think about being late." Elisabeth winked as she stood up to pay the bill and leave.
