Author's Note : It's been an incredible six years since I last thought about this book. I never considered rewriting it, but looking back at some of your comments had me laughing (and cringing). To those who waited years for this and to those who initially read my stories and supported them wholeheartedly, thank you for your patience, jokes and love. Enjoy. Truly - SOF <3

Things never worked out for you.
It wasn't always your fault, nor was it anyone else's. It was the universe, you're sure of it, even now. Actually, your 100% certain.
When the universe decided to bless the world with the ability to snooze an alarm without you being aware of doing it, you knew it had to be something personal.
"Mom, turn of that fuc--Oh God!"
You flailed within your self-wrapped burrito of sheets, legs scrambling across the icy floor as the thought of being hopelessly late to work fueled your frantic movements, sending you practically flying into your dresser in your haste.
Ripping the dresser drawers open in record time, you frantically searched for your uniform and a decent pair of underwear and socks. After quickly slipping into the outfit, you rushed into the bathroom and made a half-assed effort on your hair and hygiene, before hurrying back into your bedroom.
With rapid, uncanny success you sought out your phone, wallet, and uniform badge, and once your fabricated piece of identity was pinned to your shirt, you made a quick retreat from your apartment.
In sincere hope that with your sacrifice of breakfast, maybe the universe would appreciate the effort in making its job easier at making you suffer and lend you a solid two minutes.
Despite the rushed start and the mindless pounding of your jumpstarted heart and lungs, the air outside was nice and held the cool twinge of approaching fall.
Albeit your initial thoughts of the universe, somehow it made you bow down in gratitude in these moments as if it wasn't your sworn enemy a few minutes prior.
Until you were brutally reminded why you felt that way.
"HEY! Watch where your goin'!"
A sudden surge of painfully coarse heat spread across the front of your body as your shoulder collided with a man's, causing his coffee to spill upon you and dribble down the seams of your once pristine uniform.
With a twitch of your eye, you gave the most insincere apology you could, before quickly passing him to continue your way back to work. However, you should have anticipated that the man would demand more.
So when you felt a hand seize your wrist, it was only natural for you to start screaming bloody murder.
"Hey! Hey! What the-! Chill out lady!" It took the man mere seconds to release his grasp on your wrist.
People along the street began glancing over and pausing as the situation unfolded, you screaming and the man desperately fighting your high-pitched vocals with newfound urgency to silence you.
A shadow suddenly enveloped the pair of you, and your screaming silenced when a large, red gloved hand settled itself onto your shoulder.
