Beauty
It lies within all
Everything holds it
Even if for a moment
A lesson
A thought
An idea
Newfound strength
Perseverance
A tear
A person
It comes in many forms
It shapes many things
To see it
Is a challenge
To understand it
Is a gift
For not all see its existence
I am the beholder
For beauty lies in my eyes
I see it in all
So why do I not see it here?
This pain
This agony
This endless sea of memories
This toxic haze filled with dreams of you
This endless storm of suffering
I have yet to find
The beauty within it
I do not know this kind of ugly
This hideous growl of pain
This shriek of longing
Longing for what no longer exists
Its an empty sea
Vast and endless
With no horizon
For it remains ever clouded
In sorrow and tears
Tell me now
Where the beauty lies
Fond memories turned dark cries
Is it in the depth of its waters?
The flood of love given
Is it in the hue of its blue currents?
Everflowing tears and pain
Is it in the thunder above?
Jolts of a wrenching heart
Roaring storm
Restless sea
It suffocates
Tears away any living thing
To sail its currents
Means to be numb
For its travellers hold nothing
But a distant expression of loss
Tell me now
Where the beauty lies
For it lies in all
In many forms
And shapes many things
To see it is a challenge
To understand it is a gift
I am the beholder
For beauty lies in my eyes
But I no longer see
I am the beholder
For this endless sea
Belongs to me
Tell me now
Where the beauty lies
Within all this loss
Within all this betrayal
Within all this heartbreak
Tell me now
For I am restless
Tell me now
For I am desperate
Tell me now
For you
Are now the beholder
As I become blind
In the shattering of my heart.
