*Jenn POV*
"He's staring at you again!" My friend Lily giggled. I just rolled my eyes and bit into my sandwich. I pulled back and looked at it in disgust.
"What's in this?" I grumbled. I sniffed it and tried not to gag. Eggs and peanut butter. My favorite. I threw the sandwich in the paper bag and went to throw it in the trash.
"Hi Jenn," someone whispered in my ear. I held back a shiver and turned around.
"What do you want Chase?" I hissed.
"Just wanted to talk. Catch up. We haven't done that in a while, you know." His husky voice made my heart flutter, but I pushed those feelings down. He just had a hot voice. Thats all.
"I don't want to talk Chase." I pushed past him and made my way back to my seat across from Lily. Who did he think he was anyways? He can get any girl he wants, so why does he want me? I'm probably the only girl in the whole school, the whole town, who doesn't like him. Even my 9 year old sister is in love with him. So why me? I ran my hand through my hair and groaned.
"Why don't you just give him a chance Jenn? He obviously likes you." I looked at Lily and raised my eyebrows. Didn't she remember? He hurt her too.
"Because, Lily. He's a player and a jerk an you know it!"
"Yeah, but he's a hot jerk." She giggled. I tried to hold back a smirk, but failed. Chase was hot. With his semi-long blonde hair, green eyes, and tan skin, any girl who laid eyes on him fell in love.
"I don't care how hot he is Lily. I hate him." Lily opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by the bell. I quickly stood and walked to class alone.
*Chase POV*
I watched Jenn walk off, slightly shaking her head to herself. Her wavy black hair swished against her back and I could imagine her rolling her crystal blue eyes. I loved her eyes. They let me into her world, let me know what she was thinking. Well, they used to. Now, I never know what she's thinking. I am never let into her world. And I miss it.
"Chaseee," Brittany whined. "Are you listening to me?" I looked up at her and shook my head. She sighed and tugged on my arm.
"You promised you would walk me to class. Now come onnn." I slowl stood up and walked out of the cafeteria next to Britt.
"Ya know," she said, "You really need to get over that girl. What's her name? Jamie? Jane?"
"Jenn," I hissed.
"Yeah, whatever. Oh my god, did you hear? Jason cheated on Shannon and...." I tuned her out. I didn't care about her stupid cheerleader gossip. I let my thoughts wander as Brittany babbled on. I had that essay due for History tomorrow. I should probably start that....Oh but there's that party tonight. I'm sure I can convince Ms. Hart to giv me another day or so. She loves me. All the teachers do. Somehow, my thoughts drifted back to Jenn. Perfect Jenn. My Jenn. Well, she was my Jenn. Until that day....I shook my head and looked up. I was outside of the science room. I waved to Brittany and she grinned and bobbed her head, her way of saying goodby. I chuckled under my breath and pushed the door open to the science room.
