In The Dark

chapter 1

"Alex, Earth to Alex"

Meg says waving her hand in front of my face frantically. Meg is my girlfriend we have only been dateing a week, but to be honest I regret it I'm not really into her there is not spark.

"Oh um sorry, what are we doing?"

Just then Mrs. Cliff strikes her attention tward me and glares then continues the lesson.

I love Mrs. Cliff but sometimes she goes on tangents, this one was about shadeing.

"Ok back to projects, I will give you a partner and they should be done by Tuesday next week"

She picks up a sheet of paper and starts reading off names. Meg turns to me and says

"I hope we get picked for the project"

Then she winks at me cringe I mean why is she so cheesy? kill me. In order to distract myself from Meg's cheesiness I look over at my best friend Kyle who is flipping a pencil in his hand. Then I hear my name get called.

"Alex you will be with Kyle"

Could have been worse after she is done reading the names I grab some poster paper and head over to Kyle. I sit down with the paper and he says

"So I was thinking we obviously have to do a band logo"

"Go back to 2007 emo kid"
I say to him with a smile

His emo hair is iconic along with the eyeliner and tattos. He is the kinda guy that wears socks that don't match and stays up til midnight every night.

"What band do you have in mind?"

"All Time Low? You have the same first name as the lead singer come on"

"Ok I'm in"

"Plus the lead singer is also really hot"

Did I forget to mention Kyle is gay? He is basically out already but his family kicked him out, so he is living with his brother at the moment.

"Hey you should come to the party at mike's tonight"

He says as he spray paints the stencil of the band logo onto the paper.

"Yeah sure, what time's the party?"

"It starts at ten don't miss it"

*bell rings*

"See you then"

I say as I grab our project and sit it on the top of the shelf. As I leave the classroom I see Meg.

"Hey, you going to the party tonight?"

"Wouldn't miss it"

She says as she rakes through my hair and kisses me before she smiles and walks off.

<later at the party>

I step onto the porch of Mike's huge house and knock on the door. Mike opens it and welcomes me inside. The first person I notice is Alice who is already dancing.

"You want something to drink?"
Mike asks cheerfully

"I'll have what he is haveing"

I point at my drunk friend Jordan who is dancing like a idoit.

"Will do"

Then I see Kyle headed tward me he was acting kinda weird

"Hey Alex there you are"

"Yeah, this party is awesome right?"

"Mike does throw some really good house parties"

"That's for sure, have you seen Meg? she said she was coming but I don't know we're she is"
