18 - laughing gas

"What was that?!" Jimin's almost way too panicked tone was heard. The loud sound of an explosion had been heard but yet no signs of anything exploding at all. The people were quiet for mere seconds before continuing their routine. Was it a trap?

"Joker is playing around.." Koi's warning voice was definitely directed towards the 'innocent' female, Aera, which had already a grin on her face. She knew exactly what was going on. She recognized the bang and therefore knew what was going to happen.

Not long after the bang, people around them all started laughing, some already choking, trying to breathe. Others were already left out of oxygen. "What the-" Seokjin was interrupted by Namjoon's words. "Laughing gas. This is Joker's famous laughing gas." The criminals pulled on their gas masks that Colnel had packed in case.

Aera and Taehyung had both been laughing but not because of the gas. Both of them knew exactly what to do against that gas but none was ready to tell the others any time soon. "Get everyone out of here, children and women first!" Colnel Koi had started to finally act. He had no idea how to stop the gas but he knew that it surely wouldn't cover the whole city.

"I got you!" Hoseok swung two little boys over his shoulders, taking them away from the green cloud that had already covered most of the ground.

"Help me.. please-" A little boy had been crawling on the floor, trying to reach for the criminals for help, yet he was almost left without air. Just as he was about to drain his last air with a laugher, Aera held a hand on his mouth. "Don't breathe out." She commanded, lifting the boy up in her arms. While the others were trying to save as much people as they could, Aera had been busy helping the kid. Practically all children that were still not affected by the gas were brought into safety, now the others were searching for more survivors.

Aera held up a bottle of water towards the boy and a cube of sugar she had managed to buy at a store a few hours ago. "Stay here, eat this and then drink the water." She said, getting up to help Jimin which had started laughing nonstop. The gas must've reached him and entered his organism after he saved some people. "Jimin don't breathe!" She once again held her hand up, covering the male's mouth and nose, making sure he could neither inhale nor exhale.

"What the-" Koi had no idea what she was doing. At first he had thought that Aera had been trying to kill Jimin.

"Here, eat this and right after swallowing the last bit of sugar, drink water." He gave her a nod and stared at her beautiful features through his teary eyes as he chewed onto the sugar cube she had given him. Not much time later, Aera had waved her hand towards a direction just for a small boy to appear in front of them. He had black hair and blue unusual eyes for a asian. The female gave the small boy a pat on his head, asking him if he was okay now. Jimin just kept on chewing on his sugar, watching the green gas disappear into thin air, thinking about why sugar and water would drain the effect of the gas until he realized something. "Guys this is a hint!" He shouted. Not long after, the others came running towards him.

"This is a hint! Don't you get it? Sugar drains the gas's effect because it sucks in the chemicals and becomes all sticky and fluffy inside your mouth. What else is sweet, sticky and fluffy?"

"Cotton candy.." Namjoon mumbled loud enough for them to hear it.

"The fair.. the next bomb is at the fair!" Hoseok guessed, his eyes already without his soul. He hated the fair, that is where his mother had left him when he was six.

"Exactly!" Jimin couldn't believe he had just figured out Joker's hint. It had to be the fair. It only made sense in Joker's way and that's exactly what they were looking for. Things that sound like something Joker would pull off and this was exactly one if those things.

"I'll have my men check the area. Let's go to the fair." Colnel Koi had grabbed his phone, calling some people before he hung up not too much later.
