[(Y/N)'s POV]

I sat up from my bed, breathing heavily, drenched in a cold sweat I threw myself out of bed and looked around. My long lizard-like tail whipped around with me, nearly knocking the lamp on my desk over. My wings clung to my back so they didn't get in the way of anything. My curved horns let off a light amber glow. I slowly calmed myself as I saw that I was in my dorm room.

Terra: "(Y/N)...?"

I turned around to the bed next to mine. Terra, a small child that seemed to be around the age of 10, looked at me with a worried/tired expression. Her long green hair was messy and all over the place, her emerald eyes barely open. The small green spikes that were her horns gave off a viridian glow.

Me: "Sorry Terra, just a bad dream."

The light from my horns died out, much like a fire being snuffed out slowly.

Me: "Sorry I woke you Terra, try to go back to sleep."

She nodded slowly and laid back down. I sighed quietly and sat on the edge of my bed. Nightmares had haunted me a long time, since childhood honestly. I should be used to them by now, but I never get over them.

Me: 'Mihi necesse est ire foras.'
Translation (I need to go outside)

I stood up and walked to the door, opening it, walking through, then shutting it quietly. I walked down the silent hall, my horns giving off an amber glow that lit my way slightly. I walked out onto a nearby balcony and looked up at the stars. I whispered an old saying in my natural tongue, one that has long been forgotten.

Me: "Collige animum meum, et pater matris meae cogitationes sollicitant me."
Translation (Calm my mind, mother and father, for I am troubled by my own thoughts.)

Ever since I had come to Vale I had missed my home. My people had long since past, the girl with me and a few others were all that remained but even now I felt alone. Dragons, beings that ruled this planet centuries ago, but have now nearly gone extinct. I am the offspring of one known as the fire dragon. Terra, she's the offspring of the earth dragon. I attended an academy know as Beacon, a school for huntsman and huntresses that combat creatures known as Grimm. My kind, fire dragons, are known for their physical strength and fiery passion for fighting, pun intended. Terra's kind, earth dragons, are known for their gentle and docile nature, specializing in healing and protection. We're basically polar opposites. But ever since both our families had passed I took care of her, as if she were one of my own. Fire and earth dragons weren't exactly enemies, but they never really interacted with one another, unlike how I am with water dragons. I know one that stays in this place, and trust me, we don't get along. As if on cue I heard the door behind me open, and instantly smelled the scent of the ocean.

Me: "What do you want Ros."
Pronounced (Ro-us)

I turned to see a girl with short dark blue hair, two blue horns atop her head. Her wings tucked behind her back and her fin like tail swishing behind her.

Ros: "Aerius, was keeping me up with her snoring. Figured I'd get some air."
Pronounced (Air-re-us)

Me: "Find somewhere else, piscis."
Translation (Fish)
Pronounced (Pe-Sh-Is)

Ros: "I can go wherever I wish, migale."
Translation (Gecko)
Pronounced (Me-Ga-Lay)

I let out a low growl and scowled at the young dragon. I took a deep breath, when I exhaled smoke poured from my nose.

Me: "Fine. Do as you wish."

Ros: "I don't understand why you feel the need to be so hostile. Considering our circumstances-"

Me: "I know our circumstances. You needn't remind me."

I sighed and looked up to the stars, gazing upon the beauty of light shining through darkness.

Ros: "I hear another Dragon will be arriving soon. I think she just recently woke up."

Me: "Another renata?"
Translation (Newborn)
Pronounced (Ray-Na-Ta)

Ros: "No, I believe she was hibernating."

Me: "This time of year?"

Ros: "I thought it was odd as well."

Ros suddenly yawned and stretched.

Ros: "Well I'm going to try to go back to bed, hopefully Aerius quit her snoring."

Me: "Doubtful."

Ros: "I should be tired enough to sleep through it at least."

Ros turned to go back inside but stopped a moment.

Ros: "(Y/N)?"

Me: "Hm?"

Ros: "Try to get some sleep. We're supposed to train tomorrow, I want a good fight."

I chuckled.

Me: "Even sleep deprived, I'll still beat you every time."

Ros: "If you say so, charcoal breath."

I ignored the insult and continued to gaze at the stars, picking out different constellations that I remember.
