Rose's POV
I don't know what's worst. Getting no sleep at all, or being told that I have to be in a "royal luncheon" in twenty minutes.
"Urgh, Gemma! There is nothing in this closest that doesn't scream 'ancient'." I huff as I plop myself down on the bed next to a certain vampire princess. Yes, I have finally learned to accept that I am indeed in a world full of vampires and I just happen to be friends with a vampire princess. Wow, that sounds even more wrong when you put it that way.
"What? There is totally something here that says not ancient," I watch as she pulls open the closet door before closing it back again in a matter of seconds. "Yeah, you're right."
I hum in triumph before falling back down on the bed, my lower half dangling from the edge. See, if I were back home the things that I would be worrying about at this moment is how to get out of class but instead, here I am in a world full of bloodsucking humans worrying about what to wear for a royal lunch. Who even has royal lunches? I mean, food is food. Wait... do they even eat food? Holy shit, what if I'm the lunch?!
"You're not the lunch Rose. We don't eat blood every day we only need it to survive but we still eat human food." Gemma said with amusement in her voice.
"How? What? How did you know what I was thinking." I questioned, "Oh my god, do vampires actually have powers or can you just read minds?"
"Well...I can read minds and do other things too but that's for another time, right now we need to get you in a dress." She smiled at me before we both lay back down. About a few moments passed before Gemma shoots up with a gasp, startling me along.
"Oh my gosh!" I have the perfect dress for you!" She all but yells before dashing out the door in inhuman speed, leaving just a gust of wind in her wake. I can and never would get used that. Before another second can pass Gemma appears in front of me with her hands filled with a bundled up dress.
"Here, I'm pretty sure this would be off to your liking." She lays the red dress on the bed as I move to stand. I gasp. This could possibly be the prettiest dress that I have ever seen.
It was cut low just above where any cleavage could show and it had sleeves that go until it reaches the wrist. It was very ancient but at the same time modern looking. It looked like something only a princess could wear. The silk lining that it had said it all.
"Gemma...it's- it's beautiful." My voice was merely above a whisper since I am still starstruck. Can you be in love with a dress? fun fact about me is that since I was 8, my dream was and always will be to become a fashion designer.
"And it would look even more beautiful once you put it on." I chuckled lightly at the hint of urgency in Gemma's voice.
"I'll just be in my room, holler if you need anything." And with that, she was gone again, with the door shutting rather loudly behind her.
I slipped the silky satin nightgown that barely reached my knee. I put on the dress quickly, paranoid that someone might be watching me even though the door had not moved an inch and the blinds were still closed. It has always been a weird paranoia of mine. I reached down to smoothen out any creases before I called Gemma back. With a sigh, I turned towards the mirror that was against the wall beside the dresser and seeing that everything was fine I turned back around to call for Gemma. Instead, when I turned around a familiar figure was standing on the door frame making me shriek.
"Harry! What the hell? I could have been naked!" I all but screamed as the familiar smirk started to etch itself on his face. He only hummed in response.
"But you weren't, now were you?" As he takes long strides towards me I could feet my feet anchor themselves into the ground, refusing to move.
"But still..." My voice was reduced to a whisper causing him to hum in response again. Oh if my friends saw me like this they would think that I had gone mute because I was normally the loudest one out of all of us.
"I make you nervous, don't I?" His voice was low and raspy and I'm pretty sure my legs would give out any second.
"No you don't," I said in a small voice. As much as I hate to admit it, he does make me nervous and him being a vampire, I'm pretty sure he already knows that by listening to my fast-paced heartbeat.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Lying is bad, my dear Rosie." I scrunch my eyebrows in disgust at the nickname. Rosie? Seriously? The silence was quickly engulfing the room as neither one of us makes a sound. My eyes travel to his pink and plump lips that were merely inches apart from mine.
"You have no idea how badly I want to kiss you right now..." He spoke again in the same raspy voice that could make panties drop just by the sound. My heart beats faster at his words.
"Then what's stopping you?" I responded teasingly, my voice suddenly coming back. Back at my school, I was also considered a flirt which is not true, I was simply making conversation.
As if snapping out from a daze, he shook his head lightly before shoving something into my hands. I glanced at what he had given me and noticed a pair of silver heels.
"Gemma said to put those on and hurry up." Was his quick response before he was gone in a matter of moments.
What the hell just happened?

Harry's POV
I lean my back against the wall, taking a long and deep breath. She has absolutely no idea what she does to me. In my many years of living, I have had my fair share of women but none were as beautiful as her. I knew she was my mate the minute I laid my eyes on her. I could simply tell by her sweet scent and the way she makes my heart go wild and pound against its cage every time I'm in her presence. The main reason for this luncheon was so that my mother, the royal witch, could confirm if she is my mate. In any other occasions, I would already claim her as my mate but since I am the king we need to take extra caution and a vampire being mated to a human rarely ever happens.
I shake my head before composing myself and striding over to the large doors that leads to the dining area. I immediately spot my mother at one end of the long table with my sister to her left. Their hushed whispers are the only things that could be heard throughout the entire room. I smile at the sight before walking over to the right seat beside my mother, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek, making both of them look at me.
"Well? Where is she?" My mother questioned, looking at me expectantly.
"She'll be along, I'm sure." I lift up the glass full of wine but as soon as my lips touch the rim of it, the doors opened loudly, echoing throughout the entire room.
My eyes travel to where she stood. Christ. She looks every bit of the queen she will be. Her lips are pressed into a thin line but as soon as she sees Gemma she smiles brightly, walking over to her. My mother looks at me questioningly on why she didn't sit beside me. I brush her off with a wave of a hand.
My mother turns back towards them with a smile, "Well let's begin then shall we?"
