Hanahaki Disease: a Fictional disease that occurs when a person undergoes one sided love, the person inlove may cough up flower petals to full grown flowers depending on how long the person's feelings was. The disease may be cured if the other person loves the other one back or if the person chooses to surgically remove it. If not removed the person may die.

"Hey (Y/N)! Guess what?"

"What is it Jason?"

"Remember Jessica? She used to be our classmate back in highschool? She agreed to have a date with me!"

That was it. That was the day She saw her world crumble. That was the day her disease started. At first She thought she might have a chance with Jason knowing that they were very very close, what she liked, he also liked.

She thought there was chemistry between them. But it seemed it was only her who was thinking about it.

She was devastated knowing that her feelings was left unrequited. That she loved him so much that she actually caught the Hanahaki disease. The disease was slow. There was four stages of it. And for months now she seemed to be in stage one of the disease.

Flower petals scattered around her bedroom. She was sobbing and coughing up. The harder her sobs was. The harder it was to cough out the stupid petals. Jason and the girl became official. While she was left here in her room alone.

Jason only visits her from time to time these days. And she was hiding her disease from her. The only people that had seemed to notice was Jason's brothers. Tim and Dick.

They were there sometimes to comfort her. They found out accidentally wen they saw her puking petals at the bathroom. Now they visited her often, asking her how she was.

Dick wanted to talk to Jason aout her condition yet she, she seemed to want to not be a bother with Jason and his happiness

Tim bargained with her to get it removed before it gets worse. But she was stubborn, she knew that one day once she gets it removed, she would forget everything about Jason. Every little memory they had. Just the thought of it makes her heart crumble even more.

Stage 2 came, it wasn't just petals anymore but flowers, fully grown flowers with stems. The thorns sometimes lodging up her throat. Sometimes when she vomits, there was a bit of blood. But she managed.

"Hey (Y/N)? You there?" Jason asked, walking inside (Y/n)'s apartment with his spare key. He seemed rather sad this time, his voice seemed to crack a bit. Him and Jessica broke up, it seemed the girl just wanted him for his money. But his sadness was later on washed with worry. Hearing (Y/N) seeming to be gagging. He quickly rushed towards the bathroom and what he saw horrified him.

(Y/N) was sitting on the bathroom floor, pulling a rose from her mouth, blood stained around her mouth, shirt and floor, she was in deep pain, she was sobbing hard aswell.

"OH MY GOD (Y/N)!!" Jason screamed a bit as he kneeled next to her "What- how did this happen??" He asked trying to wipe her tears away "Jay...?" She asked weakly while smiling at him a bit. "Don't worry.. this.. this is nothing" she mumbled

"BULLSHIT!" He growled a bit, how did he not notice? Everytime he visits (Y/N) has a coughing fit, she covers her mouth when she coughs and asks to excuse herself. He felt so dumb and so
Blind, his eyes filled with worry for her. As his heart seemed to ache just seeing her state like this

"Why didn't you just get surgery? Whoever made you fall like this doesn't deserve you (Y/N)" Jason sighed a bit, helping her wash her face up. She stayed silent a bit and stared at the reddish sink.

"This.. this is nothing Jay, i'd rather die than forget every bit of memory with him" That's what she told him, her eyes watering a bit "it's nothing because it's you" was what she wanted to say yet she couldn't. Jason grew even more angry. "Why? Why is he worth that much? If you die.. I.. I don't know what I'll do without you (Y/N)..." he mumbled a bit. "Yes he's worth that much Jay! It's because he.. he's..." she wanted to tell him yet her courage diminished over time. If she were to die he should atleast know who she fell for right?

"He's you Jason..." she finally muttered. Jason's eyes went wide at what she had said. His best friend for God knows when had fallen for him. Has risked her life for him. He now realized what was missing in his life all this time. His heart seemed warm upon hearing her say those words. He wondered why he didn't see it before. How every date he had been to, he seemed to just come back towards her. How she was always there for him.

"Yeah although a thorn grows. Yeah and it stings me, but it's worth it for me seeing you happy. That's what matters Jay! I don't wanna live if I don't see you happy. I'd rather die than see you unhappy with me although my heart hurts when i get close to you. My two arms will embrace you Jay" she began to rant out until warm soft lips was placed on her's. She was shocked a bit but soon gave in to the sweet lips that tasted like milk and honey. Jason pulled away and smiled a bit at (Y/N)

"I never realized this (Y/N), i'm sorry for being this stupid to not even realize that the perfect woman that I was looking for was right infront of me all along.. I.. I Love You (Y/N)" He said,  those were the words that she never dreamt of hearing anymore. He loves Her. It felt like magic. Her chest felt fuzzy, it didn't ache anymore, her coughs stopped and her throat felt more smooth that it was before. She felt like she can breathe clearly once again. Smiling at Jason. She kissed him once again. Pulling away. She opened her lips to say

"I love you too Jason Peter Todd"

Jason smiled at her and kissed her Forehead, wrapping his arms around (Y/N), not wanting to let go at all, He whispered

"You are my Flower (Y/F/N)"

A/N: whooh I just found out about this fictional disease a couple days ago lololol. And I was immediately like "yep ima write one for Jaybird" HAHAHA anyways I hope you liked the story :D I feel like this was better that my other chaps huhu
