A/N: I don't like the next two episodes in season 1 so we're picking up here. Don't like, then oh well.

Jerry, Beth, Rick, and Lily were sitting at the table eating breakfast. Beth was reading something on her phone. Jerry was playing a stupid balloon popping game which was driving Lily insane while she and Rick worked on a little robot together. Jerry moved his tablet away when Rick started welding pieces together and glared at the scientists. Lily glared back and Rick smirked a bit. Morty walked in.
"Hey, Rick. I have a project for the science fair this weekend. You think you could help me out?" Morty asked hopefully.
"Whatever." Rick responded.
"Well, I mean, traditionally, science fairs are a father-son thing." Jerry said while Beth picked up her phone and began texting.
"Well, scientifically, traditions are an idiot thing." Lily said as she screwed something onto the robot.
"Morty, I think it would be for you to work on a science project with your dad." Beth said as she put her phone away. Morty checked his phone and read the message from his mother. He cleared his throat.
"Yeah, Dad, why don't we do it together?" Morty asked. Jerry lit up.
"Yes! You backed the right horse on this one, son." Jerry said, hitting Morty's arm lightly. "We'll get out the crayons, brew some coffee, and knocked this thing out in two or three days." Just as soon as he said that, Lily and Rick finished the robot and turned it on. It turned around and faced the scientists.
"WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?" It asked.
"Pass the butter." Rick commanded. The robot slid the butter across the table. "Thank you." They both got some butter and put it on their pancakes. Morty just sighed and left the room while Summer walked in.
"Dad, I need a ride to work." Summer said.
"Maybe Rick can give you a ride. I'm helping Morty with science." Jerry said.
"I'm busy." Rick said.
"With what?" Summer asked.
"Uh, anything else." Rick replied. Summer squinted at him and Rick squinted back. Lily elbowed her ex-husband.
"We'll take you, sweetie. Even if I have to drive." She told her granddaughter. Summer smiled.
"WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?" The robot asked again.
"You pass butter." Rick said. The robot looked at his "hands."
"OH MY GOD." It said.
"Yeah. Welcome to the club, pal." Rick said, eating more of his pancakes. After breakfast, Rick, Lily, and Summer got in the car while Lily drove. Rick was drinking from his flask.
"Since when do you have a job?" He asked.
"Since last week. It's part-time at this vintage thrift store. My boss is this really smart, eccentric old man that treats me nice and values me." Summer said, looking out the window.
"Meow. Can't wait to meet this fascinating character." Rick said sarcastically. Lily glared at Rick.
"That's good, sweetie. Most first job bosses can be real d-bags." She looked back at Summer in the rearview mirror, smiling. She smiled back. They landed in front of a shop that was a Jamba Juice store just the other day. Rick and Lily looked at each other. The shop was Needful Things. They walked in and there were all sorts of artifacts.
