Chapter Seven || Unexpected Guest

"You jump, I jump right?" Jack says.

"Boo!" I said and threw a piece of popcorn sa flatscreen TV na naka-attach sa may living room. Mali yung pinili ko na movie. Dapat hindi love story. Ugh, nakakabadtrip.

Bitter ko ba? Sorry naman. I've past the whole week of orientation and it's Saturday. Naisip ko magmovie-marathon. Ewan ko ba at Titanic pinili ko. Maybe it's because of the kalandian I see online. Ugh, pessimistic me is taking over. Pano ba naman, yung post ng my dear ex and my dear ex best friend ay PDA. Like nung Tuesday? A pic of them hugging. Wednesday? A pic of Monique kissing Ryder on the cheek. Thursday? A pic na nagsloslow dance sila. And lastly, Friday. A pic of them kissing.

I know I shouldn't be affected pero sobra akong apektado. Naka-unfollow naman sila sa akin nung nakita ko yun. Pero nakita ko siya sa Explore feed ko. Sa katangahan ko, tinignan ko. Wasak tuloy ako ngayong Sabado.

"Nak, stop throwing popcorn sa TV." Ma scolds nung nakita niya ako nagbabato ng popcorn sa screen.

"Sorry Ma." Sabi ko at kinuha ko yung remote. Ayoko na nang Titanic. Naghanap ako nang ibang mapapanood. The DUFF? I've never watched this movie. Well, I guess it doesn't hurt to watch it.

Deciding yun na lang panuorin ko, nilagay ko dun. Love story din ata 'to. Watching intently, I grabbed a fistful of popcorn at nilagay sa bibig ko. I'm such a pig.

"Lunch is ready!" Sabi ni Ma. I paused the movie at tumakbo na sa may dining room. Nakaupo na dun si Mama at Andre. Andre was looking eager to eat the food. Umupo ako sa tabi niya.

Kumuha ako ng food ko then as I was about to devour my food, nagring yung doorbell. Seeing di ko naman problema yun, I started eating. The doorbell rings again pero I don't give a care as I munch my food.

"Aubrey, may tao sa pinto." Utos ni Ma. I grunted in response at tumayo. Kung sino man 'to ihuhulog ko siya sa bangin. Joke lang pero dahil na-interrupt niya ako sa pag-kain, may possibility na ihulog ko talaga siya sa bangin.

Pagbukas ko nang pinto, di ko in-expect na siya yung nasa pinto.

"Hi Dani." He says with a boyish grin, showing off his pearly white teeth. I scowled. What?

Nakatayo lang dun, wrapping my mind kung bakit siya nakatayo dito sa bahay namin. Medyo annoyed pa din ako sa ginawa niya nung Monday. Sobrang distracted siya sa gilid niya but he doesn't want me to see it. Even Kourtney doesn't want me to see it. I tried asking Kourtney pero she keeps changing the topic. May tinatago sila sa 'kin, I'm sure of it. I really have to keep my guard up. Lalong tumaas yung walls that I build up.

"Ano ginagawa mo dito?" I spat, medyo harshly kasi he flinched. I mentally face-palm. Wag mo naman takutin Aubrey, chill.

"Chill Dani. I --" He gets cut off by Ma. She appears from nowhere.

"Drew! Nice to see that you've decided to have lunch with us." I stared at my mother. What did she just say?

"Thank you Mrs. Salvador pero mukhang ayaw ng anak mo." He jokes. I nudge him with my elbow. Ano ba nangyayari? Ako lang ba ang walang alam na plano pala ni Ma ay mag-lunch kami ni Drew? This is downright absurd. Nilalayuan ko nga 'to.
