Everything was black. No colors, not even white, just black. I stood in the vast empty void, staring off into the pitch blackness. It was quiet, not a kind of quiet you get when it's the middle of the night, and everything seems peaceful. No, it's that kind of quiet when it feels as if a heavy force pressing down on you from all sides. It felt suffocating. I walked through the dead silence, searching for something that wasn't there. I saw a tall woman in the darkness, her long auburn hair covering her face. She looked so familiar, like I had seen her before. I stared into her dark blue eyes. Her eyes are just like mine, I think. She raised a hand, as if it was reaching for me. The creature suddenly jerked her head upwards, let out a piercing shriek, and disappeared. I started to panic, and I tried to reach out to the now gone shadow. I heard ringing in my ears and pressed my hands against them, but it only made the ringing louder. I'm going to die. I think, curling up on the black floor. And suddenly, my head explodes.
I wake up in the middle of class, my head hurting like crazy, I sit up and look around; everyone was staring at me, either with a frightened look or a concerned one, they all stared.
"Ms. Lee?" My teacher's voice was sharp, yet scared. "Are you alright?" She looks at me over her round glasses.
"Y-yes, I'm alright ma'am," I say, shaking.
"Ms. Lee, you look very pale, are you sure you're alright?" The teacher said, crossing her arms in a sort of sympathetic way. "I think you may want to see to the Hospital Wing." I only nod, the pain in my head was building slowly. She sends me off into the hall, and I half sprint to the Hospital Wing. I'm greeted by a scowling nurse.
"What are you doing, making all that racket in the halls?" She said crossly.
"Teacher sent me." I said, rubbing my throbbing forehead. "Bad headache."
"Seems believable enough." She clucked, letting me in. The rancid hospital smell burned my nose, which made my head hurt even more. The cross nurse left, and came back with a nicer looking one. She took my temperature and a bunch of other odd nurse things.
"And what is your name dear?" She asks kindly, putting down her medical instruments.
"Avery Lee." I said. The nurse jotted my name down on a large list of students. She then went on a long explanation that I simply had a migraine, and asked if I wanted to lay down while she called my father. I only nodded; as the pain was getting worse. She apparently noticed my lack of attention, so she poured a clear liquid into a measuring cup, and gave it to me to drink. I threw my head back and drank the fake grape tasting liquid. Immediately, I felt so tired, that I stumbled over to a bed and fell asleep on it.
