One week later--------------------------------------------------

Ring. Ring. Ring . I picked up my phone. "Hello?" I said.

"Hola, mi amigo." Sierra (my friend) said.

"Sierra. How many times do I have to tell you I don't no Spanish?"

"Shut up bitch. Neither do I."

"O...kay. What do you need?"

"So, there's this rockin' party tonight. Do you want to come?"

"Sure, not like I have anything better to do."

"Alright, it's a date. I'll pick you up."

"Okie dokie artichokie."

"You're so lame."

"If you mean lame ass cool, you're totes magotes right."

She chuckled and said "I'll see you at seven."

"Alright, see you."

Now just a plan to sneak out of this dump. Hmm...

7:00  pm. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here. She texted me.

On may way out. I texted her.

I threw the white rope down off of the balcony. "Hey, where are you going?" Isaac interrupted. "No  where." I told him and proceeded with "just don't tell anyone."

"So, you  are going somewhere?" He asked.

"No where important." I responded.

"Yeah, sure." He said.

"Promise you won't tell." I held out my right pinky.

He wrapped his left  pinky around mine and said "fine". He paused for a moment and then proceeded with "but, if you're out past midnight, I'll have no choice."

"What's an eight year old boy going to be doing up at midnight on a Monday?" I asked him.

"Whatever this kid wants." He pointed both of his thumbs at his chest.

I rolled my eyes and said "see you".

I grabbed onto the roped and slid down.

"Hey, Sierra." I said as I got into the passenger side of her black Ford convertible.

"Hey, what's up?" She asked as she pulled away.

"The usual." I sighed.

"You doing okay?"

"Fine. Why do you ask?"

"Well, you're dad just passed away and you are acting way to cool."

"Life is just... I don't want to talk about it."

"Fine, but you know you can talk to me about anything."

I nodded my head and we got out of the car.

The moment we entered the house, we were surrounded by a bunch of high school and college kids dancing like hooligans and drinking out of red solo cups.

"This is... something." I told her.

"You ain't seen nothing." She poured some beer into a red cup and handed it to me.

"Thank you." I rolled my eyes and tried to pull it off as sarcasm, but really, I need to escape from my problems.

I slowly danced right beside Sierra as we slowly drank the beer.
