"Maria, This is What You Wanted.. Right?"

"Maria was it?"

The Space Colony Arc was a place of genius works and projects. One project in particular was created for someone near and dear to his grand daughter, Maria. Maria sadly was diagnosed with an unknown disease. Robotnik was feeling bad for his grand daughter so he decided to invent a special creation for her. A friend you can say. Maria was nice to have around and it wasn't her fault for it. The least he could of done was to let her have a friend. Mr. Robotnik worked day and night to create the perfect life form. Luckily it wasn't long until the creation had a heart beat.

"Project Shadow's a complete. Let him out the capsule." Robotnik said and as told the capsule opened. Slowly a black hedgehog with red stripes appeared, looking at his surroundings.

"Welcome to life." He said and Shadow looked at him with the red eyes. He slowly stretched and looked at them.

"Doctor?" Shadow said, "What is my duty?"

Robotnik just smiled and pointed to the door. Shadow walked clenching his fists and walked out.

'This, this is life and-' he looked outside, 'that must be earth..' Shadow kept walking until he heard a girl. He followed the sound and soon walked to a girl with golden hair and a baby blue dress. The girl just smiled and waved.

"Hello, what's your name?" She asked politely. Shadow looked down then back at the human girl.

"My name is Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog." He spoke quietly. Maria giggled "My name's Maria." She said.

Maria gestured Shadow to come with her to her room. Soon Shadow saw thing he didn't know existed. He soon pointed to a stuffed bear.

"Maria what is this thing.? It's just been staring at me and hasn't breath. Is it dead?" He asked.

Maria picked up the bear. "No no Shadow this is called a teddy bear." She giggled.

Shadow looked at more things then pointed again.

"What about this? I see it has words in it but I can't seem to see what's facts about it." Maria grabbed the book Shadow had and smiled. "It's a fiction book. Want me to read it?" Maria asked and Shadow nodded. As Maria read Shadow looked at the pictures.

"Maria is that in this Arc?" He pointed to a small pond in the book. Maria shook her head then pointed at Earth.

"Earth has lots of ponds and lakes, even oceans. See all the blue. That's water." She smiled, "I wish I can go but sadly we can't."

Shadow looks out. "Well why not?" He asked but Maria shrugged. They went back to reading but the doctor came back and told both of them it's time for bed. Maria waved 'good-bye' at Shadow and he did the same. The doctor said that Shadow could stay and placed a smaller bed besides Maria's. Shadow crawled into the bed and hugged the so called teddy bear Maria was talking about. Soon they slept calmly and Maria was smiling while she slept. Shadow acted like a baby all day not knowing what simple things were. ((To be continued))
