Skye walked up even closer to the shuttle-like-rocket-thing, not understanding what was going on. She stood about four feet away from it. It didn't make sense, why it was there. Nothing was making sense recently. Everything that was happening to her... it was unbelievable. Skye just stood there, staring at it.
Skye sat in class while resting her head on her hand, her elbow on the desk. She could not stop thinking about last night, everything about it! From almost running over the boy to seeing what could possibly be a rocket! Her eyes fluttered closed, and she rested her head on her desk and covered her face with her arms. She yawned fearlessly, making it more prominent than normal.
"Skye!" yelled her teacher across the room. He stood over his desk, tapping his fingers impatiently.
"Oh! Sorry sir, did I miss another one of your boring lectures? I'm pretty sure we all know how to write a sentence, thanks." Skye said, smiling sweetly up at him. The teacher made a fist. Skye was driving him into retirement.
"I was going to tell you, since you never pay attention, that we have a new student that's sitting next to you. Is that okay? Oh wait, I just remembered that I don't care about your opinion." The teacher said, crossing his arms. "Marcus, over here. Also Skye, detention. I hope you find it comfortable in there." Skye gave him an annoyed sneer and looked over to her left to see a girl named Alyssa laughing at her.
"Oh my gosh, what a freak. Does she even have any friends?" She giggled with her friends, or whom she considered her friends. Skye just looked at her and motioned a heart with her hands.
"If you haven't noticed, Miss Princess, I don't care about your worthless remarks, so stop." Skye said, yawning. She turned back to the front, seeing an even more annoyed teacher staring at them.
"Yeah, I'll stop. Just how your parents stopped loving you and left you." Alyssa said, smirking. She high fived her friends (or whom she thought were her friends) with her perfectly manicured nails. She was about to grab her expensive purse to get her phone out when all of a sudden, it went flying back into the teacher's face.
"Stop," said a voice. Skye turned around to the right, to see a boy who was slightly taller than her, with broad shoulders. He had auburn hair with a slight curl, and eyes the color of the sky. He had a cold feeling to him as he glared at Alyssa. The boy was Marcus. Marcus was the boy. Skye's eyes widen and her jaw drops. Did Marcus just do that? No, it couldn't be... she thought.
Alyssa screamed and then started to ball her eyes out, ruining her perfect makeup. Skye, despite all of the shock, starting to crack up laughing hysterically. The teacher screamed himself,
"Enough! All of you! You all are sick and worthless children! Skye and Marcus, detention. I don't know what pranks you're playing on me, but this is not okay. I will get you suspended. All of you!" He yelled out, slapping his yard stick onto some poor girl's desk. She jumped up and ran. Personally, nobody blamed her. That teacher had some serious anger issues.
Skye turned to Marcus, smiling and frowning at him at the same time. Marcus looked up at her, his dark blue eyes staring into hers. Skye's eyes squinted slightly, before stating simply
"Who and what are you?" She asked, talking quietly and gently. She was behaving more gentle than normal.
"I-I am a friend, someone here to help you. To protect you.." Marcus replied shyly, cheeks slightly turning red. "I know you are confused, of course you are. But I'm here to help you, I promise." He said. He seemed to be stumbling with his words like he was having trouble with what to say. Marcus felt a tinge of guilt strike him at the word promise, like something was off, or he was lying...
