A Bad Day, Or Is It?

(A/N) Hey guys! This is my first ever story I've written so I'll try my best. Recently I've been reading a lot of books and I am very focused on my writing and grammar classes. I figured I would write about on of my favorite ships: Peter and Michelle. Hope you enjoy! (P.S. sorry if there are any mistakes, I didn't have much time to read through this.)

Peter P.O.V.

Peter woke up to his alarm and rolled out of bed. He could already tell that today was going to be a bad day. How? Well, his head hurt, he stubbed his toe on the edge of his bed, and, to make matter MUCH worse, he was going to be late to school. Great.

He rushed downstairs only to see that May had left for work early. Even better. He had been hoping that she would've made a small breakfast that he could've devoured in a few seconds but ended up quite disappointed. He was only able to grab a small blueberry muffin before sprinting to school. You may be wondering why he didn't swing as Spider-Man all the way to school. Well you see, he was already running very late and the time it would take to change into his suit and then change back once he was at school would take even longer than just running.

And as predicted, Peter was fifteen minutes late to class and had to suffer through the embarrassment of his teacher lecturing him. Again. As if he wasn't upset enough about today, he could see Flash smirking at him out of the corner of his eye.

He walked to the back of the class and took a seat next to his best friend, Ned. On his other side, Michelle, or MJ as she now likes to be called, was jotting down note like and didn't even seem to notice Peter's presence.

MJ. That's an interesting topic. Well, to Peter MJ was something different. She wasn't one of the preppy girls at high school like Liz was. No, she was a bookworm, captain of the Decathlon team, and very introverted. She liked to speak her mind and was never embarrassed  by what she said, unlike Peter. She knew what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. To some people she was weird, creepy, and strange, but to Peter, she was pretty cool.

MJ had been hanging out with Peter and Ned more, and they could honestly say she was pretty fun. She would make them laugh with her sarcasm and had a way of criticizing you where you knew she meant it, but it was most likely exaggerated. She liked calling them losers, but somehow they knew she didn't fully mean it. Besides, she was basically one of them. Except for one thing: she didn't know that Peter was Spider-Man. Or at least she hadn't said she knows. MJ's so smart she might've known before Ned even did, but who knows.

"Dude, you should stop staring before it gets weird." Ned's voice knocked Peter out of his trance and made him jump. Just a little.

"Who-wha-no I wasn't.. staring. Just thinking. While looking in that general direction..."

"Okay, sure. But either way, you should stop. If she saw you she'd give you a glare that could burn a hole through your head."

"Who could? You losers aren't talking about me are you?" Michelle was giving them her signature thinking stare. "'Cause if you were, that's weird."

"No, no. We were talking about our stupid Spanish quiz and how our teacher would kill us if she caught us cheating on it" Peter thanked all things holy for his quick excuse. He didn't know why he was so scared of MJ knowing that they were talking about her. She is their friend, right. What does he have to worry about? He didn't have a small, little, teensy crush on her, did he. No, nope, definitely not! She was barely even a friend. Although, he did like how independent she was, her confidence, those few times when she smiled were amazing as well-

"Peter and Michelle, you will be partners for the project. I hope you two can work well together because this will determine if you pass or fail my class." The teacher spoke loudly to the entire class and Peter was knocked out of his trance yet again.

Okay, Michelle was Peter's partner. Not bad, she was definitely smart and could help him if he needed it. Hey, maybe he could even learn a bit about her, too. That could be fun.

He looked over at Michelle and was trying to see if there would be any hints on her face indicating how she felt about being partnered with Peter, but to his dismay he found none. She had gone back to her notebook and was 100% focused on that. He felt a little disappointed that she wasn't happy about him being her partner, but happy that she wasn't upset. But why was he feeling this? They were just friends! Besides, even if Peter did like her, which he DIDN'T, she would never like him back. Sure, she could see him as a s friend, but she could never ever like him. She's the kind of girl who's never independent on anyone. And that's enough to make Peter hide his own feelings from himself.

The next few classes dragged on since Ned was only in a few of them and Michelle in even less. Peter was looking forward to getting out of school and swinging around the city like he did every day.

"Hey weirdo." Michelle addressed Peter while he was retrieving some books from his locker. "We need to work on this project. How 'bout we meet at the library at five?"

"Uh, yea, sure sounds good." Peter had completely forgotten about the project. Not as much spidery-time today after all. Yet, something inside of him was a little happy that he was able to spend the evening with MJ. He was looking forward to, or at least trying to, becoming closer to her.

Maybe today wasn't that bad after all.
