Today was finally the day. Alca, and a bunch of other men and women, would be leaving for Paris a long side Ragnar.
Alca was wondering the beach, but still being close by the docks. The conversations were loud and Alca wanted some time alone before spending days with people she didn't know, and probably will not like. She stopped once she was far away to have a little peace and quite, but not too far to not see the boats. She turned towards the ocean and sat down, the wind blowing in her hair and the sound of the water moving back and forth. The sounds calms her. She closes her eyes, breathing in and out. She was calm and relaxed, but then she heard movement. Eyes still closed, she heard someone sit down right next to her. The person didn't talk or say anything, so she kept her eyes closed. After a few minutes, the person decided to speak up. "If you sit like this all day, you might miss the boat."
A chuckle left her mouth, " You wouldn't let that happen." She opened her eyes and looked to the left, seeing Halfdan sitting down. " Now tell me Halfdan, why are you so interested in me?" Halfdan couldn't answer that question, he sat there silent and realized he didn't know why either. " Guess the gods are directing me here." A confused expression was placed on her face, but before she could say anything, a horn was blown, meaning it was almost time to go. So the both of them got up and walked to the docks. Halfdan walked her to Lagertha's boat and watched her get in. Before he could go to his boat "Halfdan." he turned around her, the boat already leaving the dock. " My name is Al." She turned around and looked straight ahead across the waters. Halfdan walked to his boat with a smile on his face and stood next to Harald.
"Why so happy brother?" Halfdan responded, " She still fascinates me." Harald pats his brother on the shoulder, "well good because we need you to get close to her. I have found news that Lagertha's army contains the great warrior Alca. We need him to join our army. I hear he is close to women that fascinates you." The smile dropped from his face. She was already taken. He turned his head, seeing Al on her boat talking to Lagertha. " How do you know he will join us?" Harald laughed, " He's a Jörmungandr, of course he would betray her."
Back on Lagertha ship, Alca couldn't sit still, it would days, even weeks, before she would get there. As she looked across other boats, she saw two young boys looking directly at her. A smirk formed on her face and she moved to the side of the boat that would make her closer to them. They all made direct eye contact. The tallest one couldn't looked away, but the youngest one turned around, too afraid to look in her icy blue eyes. Ragnar walked up to the edge of the boat and grabbed the boy by the head, making him turn away. Alca turned back around and went to Lagertha.
"So, what is the plan for when we get there." We will set up a base and make a plan." "Will I be apart of that plan?" She didn't answer the question, so Alca finally went and sat down. The next days went on and on. She would always look out towards other boats, but for some reason she could never look towards Halfdan's. On the other hand, Halfdan could only look at her boat, wondering if she was close to Alca, why has she not talked to anyone, but Lagertha.
As night fell, Alca went to sleep, and awoke in the middle of night. Nothing could be seen, and the only light source was the moon. She sat up and looked at boats around her and there she finally towards Halfdan's boat, but nothing could really been seen. as she laid back down, her eyes quickly closed and sleep took over her. When she woke up, Lagertha was shaking her shoulder. The boat had been on shore. She stood up, next to her. She looked around and saw Halfdan look at her, while getting stuff off his. She climbed out of the boat, with Lagertha right behind her. Her feet hit the ground and a smile was placed on her face, as she kept spinning in circles looking at everything. Halfdan couldn't look away. She was different from the rest. Lagertha placed a hand on her shoulder making her stop. She then whispered in her ear,
"Welcome to Paris, Alca."
