Chapter 6

We walked into the sweaty, compact area as i followed brad to the bar quickly pushing past the humidity of the bodies as everyone was crowded in front of the counter

We arrived at our destination as i stood twisting a strand of my hair as the area around us became more and more crowded every second
B:Hey mate can we get a...
BM:Sorry man I'll be with you in a sec

I laughed lightly as brad rolled his eyes at the barman who drifted off towards the other side of the table chatting up a bunch of girls
B:Barmen are seriously useless
K:Hey didn't you say earlier that you and your family worked in a bar?
I squinted my eyes in his direction as he shrugged lightly
B:Yeah but I actually get the job done, this mans got no one to impress
He pointed in his direction tilting his head to the side slightly

K:But instead everyone tries to impress you so...
B:Why, is that what you would do?
K:No I'm just saying thats what everyone else does
B:But your not like everyone else?
K:No clearly not
He smiled laughing bluntly before we were suddenly interrupted by a loud voice in front of us

BM:Sorry buddy, what was it you wanted?
B:Um just two vodka and lemonades please
The barman nodded quickly before hurrying off steadily collecting the glasses and putting them in front of him
K:Oooh i see, keeping it light are we
B:I can't get you too drunk, Joe would kill me
K:I don't know if your forgetting Simpson but I'm an adult now, Joe doesn't make my decisions
B:Like i said, your playing a real dangerous game ò Neil

I just shrugged my shoulders turning around obliviously to see connor and tris rushing in our direction, smiling as they squeezed their ways pass the un-organised queue in front of them

Con:Hey i didn't know you were coming
He smiled hugging my shoulders as I laughed lightly
K:Yeah brad invited me
Connor nodded quickly as tris hurried off towards the bar
B:brad also has somewhere to be, Joe told me to call him when i got an email from you know who
Con:Oh right

I looked in between them with a confused stare as they nodded in each others direction
B:I'll only be a sec, take care of this for me one will you con?
K:For the last time I don't need looking after!?
Brad rolled his eyes fixing his jacket before lightly nodding in Connors direction and walking towards the entrance of the bar

Con:You and brad seem to be getting on pretty well
K:Oh, uh yeah i guess he's a bit annoying though, he acts like he's my carer!
Con:Well that may be a good thing, i can tell he really cares about you
K:Or he cares about his job... he knows Joe would kill him if he let anything happen to me

I smiled lightly before tris interrupted my point as he returned to where we were standing with two beers in his palms, he passed one to con before standing in between us sipping on the liquid slowly

K:Wheres James?
T:He decided to stay at home, didn't feel like coming out tonight
Con:Or any night, it seems like

They nodded to each other as i laughed slightly before feeling a sudden light tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see someone I surprisingly immediately recognised... from what I remember rightly he dated rose a few years ago back when we were at college, she always told us they broke up because of distance but I could tell there was something much deeper as to why the whole thing ended so quickly, and there was just something about him that i immediately sensed and i knew i had to be weary of him

A:Hey, Kylie right?
K:Yeah uh, Alex is it?
A:Yeah you we're my ex's best friend in college, i don't think we really spoke much though so, I didn't think you would of remembered me
K:No i don't think we did, but yeah I remember
A:So, uh, I haven't seen her in a while, how is she?
K:Shes good you know, same as usual
A:Cool
I turned around to see that con and tris had drifted into there own little conversation, leaving me trapped into whatever Alex was trying to talk to me about and i had no escape plan, great
