The Purple Knights

Chapter 1

prologue: The year 2100, was the year the Gampu family attacked. The Gampu family was a family of vampires, who raided the city of New York. They've terrorized this city for years turning people and killing the weak. I pray that one day someone would stop them...Some day...

The Purple Knights

One day my family disappeared, I had a hunch the Gampu family had something to do with their disappearance, so i decided to go and look for them. Three days pass and I didn't have any luck, plus I was getting hungry. I stopped for something to eat and I heard something moving and since I assumed that it was a vampire I decided to sneak away, and of course I stepped on a piece of glass, realizing what I did I looked up at a store mirror and made eye contact with a vampire as he stopped eating what looked like a man. "Oh crap..." Was the first thought that came to mind before dashing out of the store. The vamp was of course faster than I was but i knew I couldn't stop, but of course I wasn't paying attention I tripped on a rock and fell scrapping my knee. I turned around to see how close the vampire actually was only to see that he was already towering over me. His mouth was dripping blood and he had a huge smile on his face. I knew i had to get away from him but I was frozen and I knew I could get away. As I looked into the red eyes of the vampire knowing that i was going to die.

As he walked closer to me something flew passed us making a scratch on his face, and we heard a voice coming from the distance.

"I suggest you step away form the kid!" I turned around to see where the voice came from and i saw a girl with a purple button up shirt and a long black cape. The vampire looked at the girl silently before attacking her, she dodged all the attacks that the vampire had, she wasn't even breaking a sweat. She took out her sword and cut the vamp causing him to lose balance and a lot of blood. He looked at the girl with anger and fled. The girl stood there for a while before she started looking for me, I called out to her telling her I was hiding behind a huge rock from a destroyed building.

"Are you okay?" She said with a big smile. All I could do was stare into her big, hazel eyes and nod my head. She said her name was Annie,and I told her my name was May. She asked what happened to my family, I stared at her for a while before telling her that they disappeared and that I was looking for them. She looked at me and asked if I wanted to go with her to a place where other survivors stayed, she called the the Purple Knights. She told me that they could help me look for my family. I decided to go with her and we left before any other vamps could show up.

When we arrived to her hideout it looked like a small house not too far away from the city. When we enter there was about 20 people in the hideout; men,women, even children; they all stopped and looked at us and Annie greeted them with a huge smile on her face.

"Annie Jones!" Someone called out to her in an angry tone. Annie and I both look over to see a man no older than 20, he wore a long black trench coat. He asks where Annie has been and she tells him she was out examining the area and looking for any lost survivors. The guy looks at Annie with a worried and tells her she couldn't just leave like that. "I don't see why not, I did put the group together, I should feel free to go whenever I like." She responds with a sly grin. She tells him that he should go out some, he doesn't respond he just looks at her for a second and walks away. As we watch him walk off someone calls out to Annie and tells her that her fighters were ready to her. We go downstairs into a basement where there were about five or six people. There were three people at a small table with what looks like a map.

"Its about time!" Said a girl with long red hair, she had a huge, energetic smile one her face. There was also a guy who looked like he hasn't slept in days...maybe weeks. One of the people in the group asked Annie who I was and she introduced me and told them I was joining their meeting.

"Are you sure you want a kid to get involved?" the girl with red hair asked

"I don't see why not." Annie responded with a sort of "judgmental" look, and told her she accepts all types of people children or not.

They carry on with the meeting, they say that if you kill the "host" then everyone turned into a vamp would turn back into a human. When I heard the word "host" I instantly thought of the Gampu family and how I thought that this small group of people would have to fight against them.

"How do we know who the host is?"I asked without thinking.

"With this..." Said the guy, he was holding a piece of paper with a symbol on it. He said that it was a family crest and that it was the Gampu's crest. The girl explained the family: Elijah, the oldest; Maya,Dean, Cole, and Raymond being the youngest.(Raymond has been the one terrorizing New York the most). After Annie processes the information she says that they leave tomorrow morning at dawn. I ask if I could go with them, but Annie tells me no as she turns to go back upstairs. I ask why, and she tells me it was too dangerous and she didn't want me to get hurt. I tell her i could take care of myself but she looks at me with anger in her eyes, which makes me stop talking. She takes a deep breathe and asks if i truly feel like I was ready to fight against them. Of course I wasn't ready but i didn't want to tell her that, I just told her that I thought Raymond did something to my family and that I would do whatever it tool to get them back. Annie didn't say anything she just looked at me and told me to follow her, she lead me to a room with weapons and a couple of dummies that hung on the wall.
